It's not a NAD - NEW AMP DAY.....it's a NOAD Day - New ORDERED Amp Day!

:) ;)

Hope it works nicely for you, Rich!

Thanks man!

Rich I have come back to this thread to say I am incredibly jealous of your new purchase... I ALMOST grabbed a Steve Stevens on closeout at the local GC by me. Was an insanely low price but I just started a new custom guitar build.

Anyway, can't wait to hear your thoughts.

You should have grabbed it. But I'm more of an amp guy than guitar guy. I may also pick up a road case for it instead of my usual padded cover. Good luck with the guitar!

Congrats. I love my SB. Dave gets tone.
Thanks. I looked at the small box too but I've been wanting the BE for years...it was time to just do it.

Another Axe put in retirement ....

How bout a clip for the RT boys ?

You shouldn't notice any tone change with the loop

Could be my ears playing tricks on me. Almost feels like the edge/bite is a little less when something is in the loop.

Might be your cables

I don't care how 'transparent' a builder/owner of an amp says their loop is...there's always some tonal change when using a loop. Just the way it is. Some are very hard to tell a difference, but it's always there. And I've played and tried out newer Friedman's, and like you there is a minor high end cut if you will. Very small, but its there. Damn good loop though. Slaving is the best way to avoid that. Pain to lug around all that gear though.
Congrats on the amp!

I enjoy the loop on my BE100. It works great. I'm sure you're going to get a little top end roll off because you're introducing another "X" feet of cable into your signal. Just bump up the high end a nudge, or get a quality buffer if you feel it's needed.

Nice!
One of the best sounding amps I've played.
Hard to beat sweet waters deal.

do any if your loop pedals have buffers built in?

Congrats. Are you done with the axe now?

I sold the AX8 a month ago. It was great for what it does but I'm back to amps and loving it.

I agree. To me there is definite tone-suck whenever you use a serial loop. I don't think it's the quality of the loop either - particularly the with my amps. I think it lies in the AD/DA conversion of the effects unit. No matter how good that process is, it always does something to the tone as is being described here. I haven't used the loops I my amps since I started using the slave-out for processing effects through a wet cab. To me the difference is huge. Also, on my UL, the parallel loop mode sounds a lot better than when I use it in serial. So absent using the slave out on the BE, I'd get something to convert the serial loop to parallel.

The loop thing is fine...it's not a big issue but I kept hearing people say it doesn't change the tone when I can hear a very slight change. Again, not an issue...just an observation as I get to know the amp.

Had to got o GC of a cable, went into the Platinum Room and tried, in this order, Runt 50, Pink Taco, then BE100...

Holy crap is the BE insanely awesome!
