ARS tubes ? are they a rebranding tube company?

Yep, a lot of JJ's & Chinese just like GT & Ruby ect.

I think I slightly prefer the Friedman, but both sounded great! Thanks for the comparison clip, I haven't heard a Naylor before, but I like it! So do you have to make a choice between them, or is the Naylor already packing? I really know nothing about those Naylor amps, are they similarly priced to the Friedman stuff?

Naylor seems to be fuller sounding but..EQ'ing and such make a difference..Both cool

The Naylor is up in the Emporium. They are $2675 new. The last one went for $1800 + shipping on Ebay.

I attempted to eq the Friedman to get the Naylor sound after making the clip. I can get closer, but they're just two different amps. Naylor is thick, lots of mids, with as much bass as you want, and can dial in brightness to taste. Friedman is thicker and not as bitey as some Marshalls, but still has more of the upper mids than the Naylor. You can hear both when they are at volume, going at the same time.

After listened to your clip , i tend to prefer the Nailor

That Naylor sounds great!!! Impressed.

Smallbox has Friedman tone all over it. Congrats. I'd grab this before the BE100 myself as well.

I think the Friedman sounds alright, but that Naylor has some stuff going on there. I'm digging it.

Seems like folks are evenly split between the Naylor and the BE side of the Smallbox.
The Naylor retails for about $100 less.
Both great amps with their own sound. The SB is more versatile with the 2 channels.
Nothing really feels or sounds exactly like the Naylor, that I've played. That includes the Buddas that are said to share the same preamp.

I'd like to be able to afford both, and a Dirty Shirley. :)

Don't have a Naylor...but here's a little different action.

Forgive all the clams, bad lighting, iPhone camera and mic, AND that I had my shirt on.

A quick demo to show what the amp can do. Seems like the iPhone puts on a limiter or something but it is what it is...

I love this demo...whatched it and your other one several times last night. Definitely has me sold!

And you can have the Naylor...options are fantastic.

There's a little DNA between the Naylor and the Friedman, but the two switchable channels (Plexi and BE) on the Friedman make it a no brainer for me. YMMV.

Been following the Smallbox thread over on TGP where I'm guitarspaz. I've got your old modded JTM 45. Love it but my one gripe has always been wishing it had a a plexi like channel paired with the Brown Eye instead of the C45 (which I basically never use). Smallbox sounds like it might be the deal. thanks for the demo.

I'll try to get some more demos up next week.
Both channels, more in depth.
