I'm jealous. Wish i could afford one.
Minimal moves on the EQ make the amp a winner.
Try running the Pres/Depth at 9 oclock for a different flavor.
Defiantly not a "High Gain Only" amp
Congrats
Killer score. I want to try a Herbert.A personal top 5 amp for me. Just can't seem to justify letting mine go. But I want a cat so bad....

I use to run a VH4 like the (depth and presence turned way down). It seemed to bring the mid range more forward (but in a different way than just cranking the mid knob, which could just make it sound stiff and boxy).

It's easy to go too heavy on the mid cut controls. Sounds great in the room but your pick attack will suffer and get kinda muddy. Try cranking the mid knob to compensate for the mid cut controls. Same principal as Dime/Holt banging the mids and cutting them later in the signal chain.
Glad you got a dream amp...and more importantly it not sucking and instead having it blow your mind. Stop buying amps now, chances are you won't find much better and will ALWAYS be comparing it to the Herbert.
Got one more coming in and I’m done after that, figured the same lol
Yes .... you do. Hit me up ?Got one more coming in and I’m done after that, figured the same lol
If I had a buck for every time I read someone say that, I'd probably have enough to buy a new amp
Congrats by the way...Herbert is a cool amp. I've owned a MKI and MKII and they definitely have an evil voicing.

Nice BRO!!! Bitchin acquisition!!
Stop crushing my dreams Mike I can quit anytime I wanna!
I knew it. How do you like it? Sorry haven't been able to read all the comments yet. I can feel it in my ribs from here.
These are amazing amps!!!!! I had one about 10-12 years back. I traded my Einstein (which I hated!) for one. In reality, I wish I got the VH-4 instead when I had the opportunity.
The mid-cut is amazing for when you are listening at lower volumes. Never use that feature live though....you will be lost in the mix for obvious reasons.
The only thing I don't like about it is that it is massive and weighs very close to 60lbs. Carting that thing to gigs was not fun! LOL.
