Hey RT,

I have been at a complete stop with any gear purchases for a bit now. New baby, possibly a new job, etc.

The only things I tend to buy are these badass pedals anyway.....

As my witness, ask @griff10672!!

Well, had a client who was letting an amp go that happened to owe me for quite a bit of guitar work.

In the end, we worked out a deal we were both happy with and I came home with this!

Wife wasn't happy at first, then I explained how it was acquired - still not the happiest, but couldn't be mad.

Absolutely mint, and came with a 2-button footswitch.

First impressions are -

This amp has a surprisingly good clean channel AND it sounds like it needs a speaker swap.

G12V has a lot of top end. Swapped in a Fane M65 and will see how that pairs when I get time today.

I will end up rolling various tubes in the input and all of that as well.

Did not expect this acquisition at all, but I am not mad at having a new Marshall tube amp to mess with!

SD-1 into that Classic Gain channel on crunch ...... or 5 or 6 of the pedals you have of mine in front of that channel for that matter
True! I have a plethora of good stuff to choose from. I was surprised that the Blues Joliet became one of my favorites almost immediately.

I bet the supa dupa drive into the DSL will give it that nice surge of 'kenk'.

congrats (all the way around)

would love to see gut shots but I can g:shocked:gle it
Ooooh yeah I didn't even think about that yet! I am failry certain this one is just stock - so probably nothing interesting. Google will definitely get ya on this one.

Nice combo. I picked one up for occasional jams. I would reco the JVM footswitch as you can set it up like a 4 channel left to right clean on button 1, classic crunch button 2, od1 button 3, od2 button 4, IIRC you can set either the reverb or loop on buttons 5 or 6, then assign a master green or red to each channel. There is some volume loss on od1 and od2 so you can comp it with the corresponding master vol and assign with the footswitch. I'm sure you can do more with that switch, but that is how I left mine

I usually run mine into an Avatar 2x12 G12H30 70th. aka Hellatone H30. I think the EVH 2x12 is the same speakers. Sounds great with the DSL40cr.

Dude - many thanks! That sounds like exactly how I would set it up. Awesome.

I have some Avatar AV75 speakers in a Panama 2x12 that feel like they are somewhat in that G12H territory, will try that with it for sure.

I have a few single speakers around to try - an AV60, AV90, and M65.

It would be sweet if any of those 3 work well.

I have the DSL40CR with the 6-Button Footswitch. I like all of the options that having that footswitch gives me. I also put a Celestion Creamback in mine. I've been real happy with that speaker in there. I might eventually try a Greenback or Vintage 30 in there though.

I was thinking of trying a cream in there also. Which Cream did you install H or M?

Very cool. I tried one of those recently at GC, and I agree that the speaker could be better. I'm not sure what speaker Marshall used in those.
