They go $800 used here. Can't justify that.
a cool amp but some came with the celestion 70/80, which was akin to mounting one of these in your combo:Very cool. I tried one of those recently at GC, and I agree that the speaker could be better. I'm not sure what speaker Marshall used in those.
I put in a Fane M65. That helped smooth it out a lot. It was still missing something for me - I threw Mullards in everywhere except V1, which has the stock Marshall short plate. I think that did the trick!!I have the DSL40CR with the 6-Button Footswitch. I like all of the options that having that footswitch gives me. I also put a Celestion Creamback in mine. I've been real happy with that speaker in there. I might eventually try a Greenback or Vintage 30 in there though.

i had one that came with a tech 21 power engine and no eq in the world could salvage that speaker. swapped it out with a scumback and the clouds parted.!
" dsl40cr is the Vtype. I can vouch for v type in the cr"I think the OG dsl40c was the 70/80 and the dsl40cr is the Vtype. I can vouch for v type in the cr
They are $750 new from various places. They go $800 used here. Can't justify that.
Life is definitely good. Far more blessed than I deserve to be!New baby and a new Marshall? CONGRATS!!
Sorry, but what? You can get them new for that price. I see them all the time locally for $500 and I live in the same general area as you (except not in the liberal infested shithole city.)They go $800 used here. Can't justify that.

I thought you said your made in China PIA was close enough feeling to the real thing it didnt matter to you, so I am confused about the Vietnam statement.Your house is 15 minutes from mine what you callin a "shithole" Bro LOL
BTW what Zactly is a "liberal" ? LOLOLOL
Ultimately the "price" of something is whatever someone is dumb enough to pay.
Im not paying $500 for mass produced Vietnam garbage.
Neighbors house recently sold for $530K your values don't align with ours.

With the Mullards and M65, this thing is really rockin! Searing gain, but doesnt get fizzy.Very happy with my DSL40CR. Two usable channels, effects loop. I go direct in, or put an EQ pedal in front. Classic channel for rhythm, EQ boost for a hard rock lead; Ultra channel for lead, EQ pedal for another, pushed lead.
if I was still playing hard rock / thrash live, I'd use this amp, add a delay (maybe chorus too) in the loop and I'd be happy.
I have mine on an amp stand with a slight tilt up, sounds much fuller and less muddy than on a hardwood floor.
