Starts sounding best about halfway through the video IMO. At around 2:10 I bumped the MV which made it come through better.

That last vid above sounds killer IMO. I'm on the list to get one and will be looking forward to re-amping parts of the album I am currently recording.

Sounds great and easily one of Resas best sounding demos.

i love my monomyth and the above demo is more proof of how ass kicking shea's work is.

i also like how the toy troll krull got swatted and splotched into a red mark on the side of the refrigerator like a pesky west nile virus carrying mosquito that was adding nothing of value to the discussion

You can call it hype or whatever but I had one of his amps last summer when you didnt hear about these mods at all. I absolutely loved it. I had to put up both of my amps for sale cause I got into a bind and I kept the one that didnt sell which was the KSR which is a great amp as well but I do miss the hell out of my Monomyth modded Superlead. In fact I just recently got another donor amp to send to him.

It blew away the Splawn Nitro and Quick Rod I had. So I bought a Friedman once I got back on my feet thinking that would have gotten me in the ball park but it wasnt even close. It was the only amp Ive ever owned that did everything I wanted just plugged straight in. Nobody is trying to sell anyone on it. Just a lot of people happy with their purchase just like I was. He charges great prices for a killer mod, has great customer service, and is a really cool guy.

Really? I didn’t know I was swatted. At any rate the iPhone clips did the amp more justice than that “professional” clip. Reza’s Clips literally all sound the same.
Proving once again that
A. Your ears are complete shit.
B. You have no business being on a gear forum.

You are a politi-tool troll foreigner. Find your way to Breit-twat.com and go play with yourself. Oh, good luck getting that green card.

I really don’t enjoy saying this, but my 50 watt MM Marshall makes my beloved KSR Ares sound small in comparison. The MM is just so open and uncompressed, it makes for HUGE sound. And I totally agree about it doing everything I want plugged straight it. I haven’t even considered boosting, or running ANYTHING in front of it for that matter.

i feel like boosting the monomyth is

1.totally unnecessary and complete overkill
2.a total disservice to shea's mod

3. My monomyth has so much gain and tightness with ALL of the eq knobs super reactive and useable,as well as the mod pots/switches that i can't imagine needing anything but a guitar and or wah/time based effects to add to the insanity that this amp brings to the table.

Sorry guys, mine’s killer with a Cusack Screamer. Not that it needs it but sounds killer with it. Set the gain at 4 and use the Cusack as a clean boost and :rawk:

I love my KSR Orthos but yeah I really want another modded Marshall which is why I have a 2204 ready to go as soon as I can send it in.

I’ve been “guilty” of trying this as well. The amp does not need a boost. But I’ll hit it with a Keeley modded tube screamer with gain around the same setting. Just a different texture. Sounds great.

Paul, I think you’re full of shit and should post one of your sweet demo vids to prove me wrong. ;) :D

Can u add a loop? I have a 4 holer 800 that would be a good candidate. These originals did not have loops but I will need one with so much front end gain.

I’ll do one of those as long as the board isn’t mounted on the pots, if you can email me a gutshot I can confirm
So I have a late JCM 800 2204 with the board mounted pots and jacks, is it not a mod candidate ? I also have a JMP 2204 is that more suitable candidate ?

Unfortunately not, I don’t like the layout and I change a good amount of pots so I pass on the later versions, the jmp 2204 would be good yes

I had my mod done after hearing clips online... I then spoke to Clint cause nobody else had Sheas mods. After verifying Clint was happy and making sure Shea wasnt a nut I got in touch and the rest is history. I am not really setup to do a clip justice cause what I capture with my phone is NOTHING what the amp sounds like in person.

There are A LOT of guys who do mods and some think that they are next to God and if mere mortals want mods done you have to pay with blood!!  In a pinch, I will just throw a pedal out front and get thru the gig if worse comes to worse. I am exaggerating of course but when working with a modder over long distance communication is key. I have 2 Diezels and Boogies so I wanted something different from my Marshall. Shea was just killer to work with and listened to what I was trying to get out of the amp and delivered in spades!! I didnt ask for a Jose, Jim, Bob, Julio mod.. I told him what I was looking for and he nailed it. Each amp will always sound a bit different and Shea takes the time to tweak each amp to get the best possible sound for THAT amp. I know there are other guys who do that but there are a few who dont. The last guy I had Marshall mods done was by Ken Fischer of Trainwreck. Working with Shea was a very similar experience. Guys loves what he does, has a good ear and is easy to work with. Cant wait to get my next one done!

You just described a wizard too

FWIW, I’ve had 4 Wizards. Two MCii 100’s and two MTL 100’s. They are great. They don’t sound best until they’re pretty loud, which can be a drawback. The Monomyth sounds better at low volumes (and higher volumes for that matter) and makes the Wizards seem small like a Wizard does to most other amps. Crazy, but true.
