After owning a Gen1 Warhead, Century 170, Century 200, Century 200II, V2 Archetype, V2 Ninja, and a cheap Rg200 I finally got a Warhead X2.

Took some searching but I should be happy this time around. Hopefully it'll get here before I head to Nashville.

Congrats, man! I have three of those (on top of three warhead stacks). Great brutal s/s tone. Be careful with it, they are kinda breakable. The loop can easily be jacked if you overload it. And as the yellow sticker says, don't max the gain out, it will fry out. But the 300 watts of power really start crushing at about 9 o'clock. Great tight bottom end. Since you love the Randall tone, you are gonna loooove this one. It's a hissy bitch, so put a decimator in the loop. But no graphic eq or boost or anything else is needed.

NIce! Don't see those around much anymore. Very cool.

Now you gotta get yourself the 15 inch speaker cab to go with it

Nice! For a solid state amp, it's really the only high gain, solid state amp I could listen to, but I never see them around! Was this the same Warhead as the one Dime used on RTS? For some reason I remember Dimes had a different front panel and the GEQ said "DIME" across it...

Edit: does it have the same voicing as this one?

Here's Dime with an X2 in the left rack...

Congrats.
Played one years ago.The Sound is absolutely massive.
If you look closely at the picture, you can see two Randall RM 100. Pretty interesting!!!

Absolutely not!!

Edit...I am pretty sure the X2 was designed by Egnater. It was the last amp Randall built for Dime.

The Warhead X2 is a different beast altogether. It was the last Dime amp before he moved over to Krank. It's a cool amp, albeit a one trick pony IMO. One of the few solid state amps I can gel with. I dig a few of the Randall solid states, and the Ampeg VL-whatever-it's-called. The OG Death Metal amp. Oh, and Chuck Schuldiner made those Marshall MGs sound alright too. Every copy-cat guitar player who hung out at my house when I was a kid ran out and got one of those MGs, and they all sounded like shit. I couldn't ever get anywhere with those things, but Chuck was magical.

Pair the X2 up with one of those Randall cabs with 2x12s and 1x15 in the enclosure, and you'll be pleased. Randall XL Series RS125XL is the name of that cab, from what I can tell. They don't make it anymore. Scott Ian used to use those cabs to great effect.

I know Chuck used Valvestates but did he really use MGs too?

Didn't Chuck use VS100's?
Yeah, he used the Valvestate stuff mostly, but I've seen him use the MG amps before too. Could have been renting them on tour or something, who knows. Other Death Metal bands were using the MGs as well. I can't name them, I'm not a big Death Metal guy...I dig it, but I only really listen to a few bands.

Randall's are my favorite amps ever, and I really don't care that they are solid state, cause they sound great regardless. Very unique punchy and tight sounding amps. I have owned a bunch, including the Warhead.
