Hello, my name is bonedish, and I'm an Egaholic........

All I can say is W-O-W! My very first Egnater, but not my last!!!

So today I go to my local GC to check out the R30 and, as you can already tell, had a great experience. The GC employee hooked me up in the quiet room and allowed me to crank it! I played with the volumes set to noon & 30 watts on both channels for 30 minutes straight. No ear fatigue!

I love hearing the differences between the 6V6 and EL84 tubes! I've never been able to A/B tubes before, but Bruce makes it possible in one amp!!!

This amp is so rich and full all around. The gain channel can produce just about any tone you want. Also, the gain on the clean channel is amazing. Most other amps flub out once you start to push 6V6s or EL84s, but not this one. The cleans are Fender and Vox gorgeous all in one! And a great speaker to boot!

The build of this amp is impressive as well. Much more sturdy than any other production line. The footswitch alone is more solid and rugged than my JVM's!!!

This is the perfect amp for me, period. From wattage to tone to portability to sheer volume! Holy crap this thing is loud!!!

The only beef (and very small beef) I have is trying to decide between using the 6V6s or EL84s alone. That said, the blend is truly the best of both worlds!

Bruce, do you think it could ever be possible to make the tube selection and tube blend footswitchable? Kinda like an ABY footswitch?

In any case, thanks so much for such a great amp! This amp IS the tone that is in my head!!!

LOL! I'm glad you caught that!

Sadly, it's true.

I'd also like to put out there that this amp does the clean Fender/lead Marshall channel combination better than any other amp builders, IME & IMHO.

I cannot get over how full and rich this amp sounds!

Small amp = small beef?

Now me, I have a humongous monster beef - a Tourmaster!

  :D :D ;)

Sorry, couldn't help it...

Welcome to the madness......I suspect you feel like the majority of us felt from the start. But beware, it only gets worse from here

Keep your wallet hidden from yourself!!

  And might want to stay away from this place

Thanks for all the comments, the wife will be keeping my wallet on a short leash for awhile, but she can't keep me off of here!!!

More sweet discoveries today;
I find that this amp is more responsive to the smallest changes on my guitars' volume knobs. With my other amps, I've got to roll back my volume to 7 before I notice any change, and that's playing with low to medium gain. With the R30 the change is very noticable instantly starting at 9! I truly did not expect that!

I'm also amazed at how good the note seperation is on higher gain settings.

Job very well done to Bruce, Jeff & the whole Egnater team!

I find that my Tourmaster is really sensitive to my three guitars- I have to re-eq it when I change guitars. I actually have mixed feelings about that. Still, it is nice that the amp is so responsive. With 4 channels, I have thought about setting each channel for one guitar.

I've heard of the re-EQ thing, but I'm not finding that with the R30 so far. My Strat, LP and Wolfie all sound good through this thing with no tweaking required. Of course each axe has it's own tone/characteristic, and they all come through very nicely, but I have not felt the need to mess with the EQ so far.

The Tourmaster is a much more complex amp then the Rebel 30. While I basically like that complexity, it is kind of a pain sometimes. After a year, I am still finding the best tones for my guitars. Believe me, the exploration is fun! I actually like the suggested Egnater settings a lot and am only just now starting to stray from them. I don't know if the Rebel has any suggested settings you might try.

:D

Not sure if you're serious but...it does.At least, with the Rebel 20,there are a few suggested settings...

Oh, I'm quite serious! I really like some of the Tourmaster ones. Particularly some of the Marshall-y settings.
