Name your 1st guitar and amp!!

No name sunburst strat looking thing I won at a church fair with 4 "pickups" and action 1/2" off the bowed neck and the tape recorder input of my family's walnut console stereo.

Tone for days and to die for... :hys:

Once I completely destroyed the console stereo speakers with horribly distorted guitar, my Dad decided it was time to get me my own amp and himself a new stereo...

Steve

hondo strat with a sears amp combo with vertical 2x10.

70's Kustom 150.150 watt head  full efx on board, ss, with its 2x12 cab. All covered in black tuck n roll!
Guitar was a 64 Fender Mustang, daphne blue mint....

This was in 81, so I had good taste!

Still have the amp!
:D

After cruising the net for a while I think my Hondo Strat was one of the Japanese made ones. I saw some pics and it was kind of nice to see it again. I traded it for a Ventura SG copy because it had humbuckers.

My first guitar was a Sears Acoustic that the strings were a mile from the neck.

Then I upgraded ( ) to a Cort Les Paul copy and a Kustom Commander with the Tuck-N-Roll cover!
I use ti use an Electro-harmonix Screaming Tree to boost it!!!
I lacked any concept of tone back then, no wonder my parents yelled at me to turn it down, and I played out in the garage :D

Cheers!

Is no one in awe of the Cort Effector??? So many people mentioned it!!

mexican strat and peavey bandit. Oh and a POS danelectro black coffee distortion that sounded like bees in a tin can that had been shakin up. Just thinking about that tone makes me want to vomit.

I am indeed in awe of the cort effector. I would have loved to had one when i was a kid.

By the way someone posted a ibanez roadstar II, isn't that what Marty Mckfly played on back to the future?

my first guitar was a blue samick. it was a strat style. i still have it. my first amp was a fender sidekick 25 from the mid 1980's. still have both!

Yep, I got mine (my 2nd guitar, but the first decent one) around the same time the movie was released :D

'75 Gibson V exactly like this one except it had open-coil Dimarzios in it (I SO wanted to be Michael Schenker!)

I wake up and kick myself in the ass first thing every morning for ever selling that V.

Hondo Les Paul copy and a no-name amp. It had a 6 inch speaker in it, a jack and one dial that both turned the amp on and adjusted the volume.

Got my first amp and guitar for my birthday when I was about 12. Amp is long gone. It was either Peavey Special 130 or Backstage, I know it had a few push/pull knobs, lol.

First git was Peavey T60 (all black, which I understand is a little rare). Still have it, and won't ever ditch it for sentimental reasons (haven't played it in years, needs frets and some wiring fixed). I remember the pickups being pretty decent, but if any one has owned or played one, would like to hear your thoughts on them  .

Wow...takes me back.

It was black Teisco Del Rey of some kind, single humbucker, double cut with Strat style bridge. I never liked it back then, but thinking back it probably was an ok guitar really.

Amp was some bizarre name I've never heard of since. I can't even remember what it was, but it was single 12" combo.

My first guitar was a 50's Stella acoustic that was barely playable (still have it...still barely playable :D )
First amp was a Kustom "tuck and roll" 15" combo...loud and awful sounding.

My first used electric was a 70's BC Rich shorthorn Mockingbird in the early 80's:

First new electric was an '84 BC Rich Stealth (stolen in '88...still hoping to find it someday):

I had the natural finish ash model for many years - loved the thin fast neck. The pickups weren't the greatest but were very versatile with the single coil/humbucker options and the phase switch. Heavy, though.

first guitar was a Lotus Les Paul copy. First "serious" guitar was a Fender Lead II and an Ampeg solid-state bass amp.
