Hey Guys,

Made it back to the East coast yesterday. Today I will be posting up several videos in this thread that I took for you guys that couldn't make it out. I think you will find them entertaining.

First up is Yngwie Malmsteen in the Marshall Booth.

Fender Yngwie Stratocaster into a DOD Yngwie OD Pedal into a Marshall VIntage Modern. Kid standing behind him must of been a relative because he didn't do anything but tune the extra Strat the whole time.

Yes, but I'm referring to the actual playing on this one. Maybe my ears are still fried from a gig this past weekend, but yikes, that's boring.

Geez, you're not the only one.. I still was reading it as CRATE. . I didn't know what they were talking about when they mentioned "Marshall"... I think CRATE got lots of free advertising!!!

You are probably thinking the same thing I thought after about 2 minutes of him on the G3 tour I saw a few years back. "Ok enough already"

First two minutes of his set for me was "Wow dude is fast and a great player!" followed by approximately another 45 minutes of me out in the lobby and having a couple of cold ones wishing he would stop, end the set, and go have a donut.

Yngwie instrumental becomes boring these days (to me)
The first album consisted of songs with melody (and Trilogy suite was great), but these days it sounds more like scale practice than actual melodies. He`s still a freak of nature, concerning abilities. I don`t think I`ve seen anyone play that stuff so effortlessly.

But to the point:

my take is that yngwie seems to be performing yngwie licks, pretty mechanically.

like he's not emoting, he's just trying to remember the notes.

back in the day, he was wicked.

but yeah this one was exceptionally horrible imo.
