thanks for posting dude. Yngwie at NAMM just doesnt mix well, especially backing tracks, he's on top of the beat most of the time and as Mentoneman stated, just over plays his signature licks to the point of no return or 'space'. Eary Yngwie is a completely other story, he was more into phrasing. I also prefer his sound with the older amps, much wamer less harsh. It almost seems like he's walking the same path Blackmore did in Rainbow with Turner playing live, just didnt give a shit and is probably bored of his own playing. still the guy's got some amazing pitch and vibrato like no other.

Yeah, someone tried to tell me that Yngwie understood the concept of space

It was great meeting brad and a ton of others at Tone Merchants. George and his band were LOUD beyond words but he and his band kicked ass. I spent alot of his set with a glass of wine in my hand and my right arm resting on George's 68 Marshall head while he tore it up with Dokken and Lynch Mob classics. George's tone was unmistakable George and he is also a great guy. Sat show was even better. George had a friend tape the show. When I get some footage I will post it on the shops new website, which I hope will be done soon.

The Greg Howe show was the greatest display of technical guitar playing Ive ever seen. Greg was shooting the show for a dvd and there was this energy in the room that Greg and his band were feeding off of. Greg was incredible beyond words. At some point in every song, the audience clapped and cheered in appreciation of his playing. I cant wait for the DVD. gregs tone was also killer. I programmed Greg's rig earlier in the week, which took alot of time and was tedious. But we dialed it in and it was killer sounding and worth the time and effort Greg and I put into it.

But what the heck did Andy do to his hair?? :aww: Maybe I'm old, but that bedhead swooshy stuff has to go. That's one trend he need not to follow ;)

Andy looks like a rockstar and is in his mid 20's, is not an asshole and can play his ass off. Good combination I think

Andy, PLEASE don't take that the wrong way brother  Like I said, you are one of my very favorite players, and a hell of a nice guy to boot  I was just thinking that the hairstyle doesn't fit your chicken pickin' shreddin' madness ;)

Now go fix that hair up and keep a playing that damn guitar, ok ;) You'll thank me later when you look back in 20 yrs and say "what the heck was I thinking?"

...this comes from a guy who used to wear spandex, mullets, and lots of hairspray

oh no harm bro!  mullets ftw!! i have to keep a certain image for the Down From Up stuff. it pays the bills and allows me to enjoy other styles of music on the side. thats the serious answer. And i play along with the "rules" of the industry, i dont try to fight it, a great example of this as well is John 5. he looks like a freak but can KILL the tele stuff!

no worries homey! it was the funniest thing i read all week! :D

The Mullet will never go out of style. It's all about practicality, business in the front, party in the back.

The Skullet, on the other hand, not so much!!!
