Did the Fryette team make an appearance?

They're to busy NOT answering mails

They're there.

Agreed on the emailing, etc. Less than impressed with their communication overall. Hope the GP/DI starts shipping soon put at least they give a revised ETA.

Why at another manufacture's booth ? Did they not enough new products for a demo this year ?

Namm is spendy for companies correct? That's why Splawn usually doesn't go.

I wish Scott would attend. His amps, especially the Quick Rod imo can easily compete with the higher priced companies.
I've always thought the QR was one of the best amps out there..

Or the new Friedman Mastodon Bill K. signature amp.

I respect them developing new amps, but why continue to rehash the Marshall look that is 40 years old and been done to death? Why not take the original amp design and make an original head shell and 4x12? Why not make your own iconic design? This is not only directed at Friedman, but every amp company that continues to copy the Marshall head shell.
Because the traditional look has provin to be appealing to the masses. Why do bands use Marshalls as their back line and play out of something completely different behind the stage?

I want this amp! Channels 1 and 2 with drive at about noon..... sounds really great and would be the perfect gigging amp for me. Love it with single coils.

I get that, but why dilute your creativity by using someone else's design? They are making new amps and original circuits, why not continue and make their own iconic look? Again, it's not just Friedman, but a few others as well. Maybe it's just me? I know if I were to design something, I would take my creativity to the entire project, not just a few aspects.

Well Billy Blades was pretty creative and look how that turned out.

It seems odd to me that I'm digging this as much as I do...

I... I think I love it.

I know what it is...

Friedman Fantana.

Dammit... Now I have to get one. Nice subliminal salesmanship, Dave. I like your style.

Yeah... But at least he is original. lol. Funny thing is his amps actually sound pretty good. I guess what you are saying is that if he made it look more like a Marshall he would be on par with Friedman and others...

What else we got, guys?

I think I remember one of you guys telling me something about an EL34 sig amp Dr. Z was making for somebody. Who was that for, again? What're they up to over there?

I agree. The Hennings amps are a great example. They look cool as all hell, and very classy. Same with Diezel stuff, which is now iconic in its own way. Engl has its own style. Mike Lickliters last amp had a cool layout too.
