Ok! I'm a novice when it comes to the NAMM show, so I have some more questions;

1. Is this show open to the public, if yes - how do I get admission tickets?

Yo, just a heads-up on getting into NAMM rather than a generic "no".

http://www.namm.org/faq

Attendance at NAMM trade shows is restricted to owners, suppliers, employees, endorsed artists and visitors of NAMM Member companies. NAMM's Membership is comprised of companies that make, buy and/or sell musical instruments and products. If your company meets this requirement, we invite you to visit our Membership page to start the process of becoming a Member of NAMM.

Once your company has been approved for Membership, you may create an account on http://www.namm.org and use the The NAMM Show section to register for housing, booth space and badges, as well as read about scheduled NAMM Show events.

If you have a friend/acquiantance that attends/exhibits at NAMM, that's the only way people like you and I will be able to attend (via guest passes).

And that's exactly what you did in the backseat of O'Donnell's rental Mercedes back in 09! :D

Yeah, and it's certainly better than a verp.

This will come off as cynical, but NAMM sounds like a big douchefest to me. I imagine it as a huge building full of impossible egos where 90% of the players are wanking the same shitty licks in E... :thumbsdown:

:D

Then you would be surprised at the amount of great players at NAMM. Sure, there's a GC syndrome going on too but there are a lot of great players and generally cool people too.

No kidding. I hear Bob Savage will be performing at the Bogner Booth this year.

Unfortunately, Im a No Show again this year. I thought that I might be able to make it happen but Im just way too busy to take the time off at this time of year. My favorite part of the show is hanging with my West Coast bros ( Randy,Bob,Steve,Pat,Hesam etc etc etc) and meeting new peeps from the boards. Im looking to make it for sure in 2014..

Have a blast fellas and drink one ( or many) for me.

Myself and Jason will be there Thursday through Saturday. Hanging out and filming stuff for our Gear Addicts tv show. :rock:

Some Thursday evening events. I will be at the Steve Stevens event in support of our fellow RT brothers ;)

I'm not going to the show this year, but I'd be up for any rig-talk hangs that get set up!

Ok, thanks, guess I wont be going either :no:

Me to Steve, last year was great. It's always great to but a character to a face. I have never met a RT member I didn't like. We're all tone chasers with so much incommon at any level of success. Seeing old friends, meeting new friends, and hanging out for a few drinks (some more then a few :lol: :LOL: ) with like minded people. Thats more important to me then the glam and glitter of the NAMM show itself. I could care less about standing in line to get Dave Navarro's autograph. The shows surrounding NAMM are always entertaining. You get to see collaborations at many levels you never get to see throughout the year. It's fun, educating, and entertaining. :) The year before last, I had just as much fun on the 4 hr flight back to Nashville. I sat next to Brian "The Farm" Farmer (Warren Haynes guitar tech). Brian had a book of great priceless stories from the years he worked with Warren, Johnny Cash, and Marty Stuart. It was fun, educating, inspiring, and moving. He teared me up on Johnny and June. But it was worth it. I have so much more respect for the people behind the scenes in all parts of the industry that sacrifice their lives and time with their families far from home. Alot these musicians are great players themselves with their own dreams. It seemed like that flight lasted 2 minutes :)
