i'm there thursday and friday and will be at tone merchants Sat night for andy wood/guthrie.

what's hot this year?

never been a big fan, not really into the homeless look either but that is really some kick ass playing on a great tune.

That was the 1st time I listened to him
is he usually that shreddy?

Is this becoming TGP? Thats the first time ive seen people not be awe struck by govans playing.

guthrie plays with a rock sensibility at the core but criss-crosses so many genres fluently you would swear that if you closed your eyes and just listened, he was a lifelong veteran of any style he attempts.

and that flurry he navigated in the clip i posted was both mechanically perfect and simultaneously so appropriately melodic and harmonic. and listen to his meter. so solid across the speed stuff it's mindblowing.

new NAMM video finishing uploading....DAR amps and eggie armageddon, demoed by our beloved sam hill.

more to come

 The DAR amps just look cool....pretty lights   ....new eggie is interesting, like to hear one in person. I also like the fact the John names his amps after woodsey type wildlife creatures  Being from WI, the Badgers are obviously my favorite

andy and guthrie were great!!
guthrie's signature guitar sounded great.

i saw lots of video cameras swooping about so i'm imagining there will be lots of footie to come.

i loved seeing gambale at NAMM just ripping so in honor of the man i leave you tonight with this gem i found of him with the chick corea band that just makes him on top with holdsworth and guthrie in my book.

it gets pretty darn interesting around 2:00 and he just explodes until 3:30
the KING of sweep picking!!!

new vid with a bunch of stuff

Ahh Pat ya punk   Good seeing you my friend, sorry we didn't get to spend any more time at the show. Things got outta control just like every year. Too many people to try and see and too many toys to check out.

dude great seeing you-

that riot pedal.... me wantie

i also checked out the new xotic EP-3 boost and that thing is cool. adds just a kiss of hair to the tone and some fatness/width in a hard to describe but good way...like running through a nice piece of analog/undigital gear.

anything you saw which did it for you?

That is just friggin' mind bendingly INSANE!

Steve

did you make it to the show?

i saw you and curt trying out trussarts from a NAMM block away but i was running to meet some friends to go to a eddie kramer demo at waves.....which was sick btw. his plugs are amazing. those trussarts sound great to me too! heard shark diver's at tone merchants when i got my axe-fx and it was very sweet.

Riot pedal of course, maybe the new JMD Marshall, and HiWatt amps. The HiWatt sounded so good saturday night I was almost ready to pawn off my stuff to get one. It was AMAZING!
