I'm having a massive rig overhaul at the moment. Part of which is I've been on the hunt for a couple of 4x12's. I tried most of the usual brands on offer down here - Marshall, Mesa, Orange - but couldn't gel with any of them. Took a chance on this used Bogner Helios Slant after reading mostly positive reviews, and I'm blown away. This thing rips! It fills the room with a fat, rich sound but still keeps the lows under control. Makes clean and low-gain tones very 3D and lively. And high-gain tones are huge. Really impressive cab. And it's in absolute mint condition. Still looks brand new.
I've also got a Friedman BE Straight 4x12 on the way. I looked for another Bogner but I couldn't find any deals on them. I stumbled across the new Friedman for the same price that I got the used Bogner, so I felt that it was a no-brainer. It'll be interesting comparing the two. Same speaker setup and similar cab dimensions except that the Friedman is a straight cab. The only other difference I'm aware of is the interior lining that Bogner use. Anybody compared a Bogner Helios 4x12 to a Friedman BE 4x12?
