Check out this EQ pedal too. Just saw it on another forum: https://www.premierguitar.com/Magazine/I ... eview.aspx

When I was in the market for an eq-pedal I've compared Boss, 10-band MXR and the Dano which was clearly the best sounding one.

You're right though, it's not the most reliable pedal. If you really like it, why not buy a little TB-looper for it ?

This is a nice pedal tho if you want to stay analog but midi controlled the payne labs Meq is the one.

Edit: just realized no midi on the source audio .

Again empress para slays all the other analog eqs hands Down, I've had every single eq pedal there is and then moved to rackmounts.

Not a huge fan of the GE-7 stock..it is noisy as people say. What curve do you guys like?

I just picked up a mint Boss GE-7 with sniper mod for $80 Quiet and works great boosting my Mesa Mk III

I had a GE-7 a few years ago and it was quiet also. Im really happy with this eq

I boost the mids, cut some Bass and roll the highs back a tad. The Boost depends on what I am doing at the time but it seems to be really clean and doesn't seem to cause a lot of break up like I thought it would.

Those sniper mods get good reviews.. he's since closed down shop, anything similar? Monte Allums perhaps?

I recently got a Maxon 7 band eq for front of amp lead boosts. I like it a lot. Low noise the way I have it set and the buffer is plenty transparent.

I love my Allums modded GE-7. NO coloration and doesnt boatanchor the amp response. The Mod really drops the noise floor too. The Mod also reduces some of the chime/phase when extreme cuts or boosts are made

when you say chime and phase, are you referring to the annoying bad sounding cocked wah when you bump the mid sliders?

Had the MXR 10 band EQ on my board for years. No issues whatsoever. But keep in mind it is 18v.
