Hey guys I guess I need some help. I just got a tbone iem 100 86MHz through thomann. The other guitar player in the band is running a tbone t75. When we run a single unit each without turning the other unit on all works well. But the moment we turn both devices on it sounds like absolute crap.

We tried different channels without any success. Some channels even have so much interference that it sounds like a tunnel being drilled with barely any sound coming through.

Could we have an issue if both units run on 863MHz even despite selecting different channels? We run a soundcraft ui16 mix with separate aux outs into each irm separately.

Hope someone can point me the right direction. I had to switch back to cable during band practice.

Could be intermodulation between the units , but doubtful, how close are the units to each other ? Also are you in the united states ? If so that is likely the issue as I believe 800mhz band is prohibited now for use and was part of the "700 mhz" repack a number of years back

hi thanks for your response. I am based in central Europe so that should not be an issue. We have both units in a rack unit. I hope that would not have caused the issue since i've seen many ppl use a single rack to host all their IEMs. It's also weird that a single unit would perform well until the moment you switch both on.

It sounds like they aren't getting along with each other. Usually, when you run 2 units next to each other like that, it helps to have them on different frequencies. Having both on the same frequency means they both fight each other.

Solutions could include:
-Trading one in for the 800mhz model to separate the frequencies
-Sharing a stereo mix and getting another receiver to run off the same transmitter. You can hard pan guitars and learn to hear one side, or use the balance to make one side louder.
-Spacing the units out in the room and staying on your side of the stage, but this might still lead to issues and you wouldn't be able to do harmonized solos while playing back to back. I voted that one out.
