Need Pedal stacking ideas for the 20th Ann Dual Drive Pedal

Tbt I love the sound of a Rangemaster > the preamp of my Tube Tape Echo, so a Range Master > EP3 combo should be pretty epic as well. Though you might need to goose the output on the EP3 some to get them to match up right. I've had an EP3, a few Treble Boosters, and have never stacked them. I seem to remember the Treble Boosters being a good bit hotter.

What boost pedal did mesa release for their rectifiers? There were two and one was preferred over the other? The gridslammer and I forget the other, maybe one of those for this project?
I remember the V-Twin and the Bottle Rocket I think it was called. But those were preamps, not boosts in the classic sense.

I figured it out....

A double Blue Fez pedal....

Seems like most dual pedals are already some combination of a Tubescreamer, a BB, and a Klon. A Rangemaster into an EP pre would be more interesting IMO.
Give the Range Master a mini-toggle for Treble/Middle/Full Range boosts to hit all the Range Master flavors and a tone Control (essentially a Keeley Java clone), with another mini toggle on the EP 3 to switch between the two main different versions of the Echoplex preamp.

Klone and ODR 1 would be my choice for the dual drive.

I like the Klone and BB as well, but don't currently have an ODR1

A Klone and a Muff would also be cool

No idea how a klone and Rat would pair

lmfao ..... with those big ass Carlington Toggle switches .... we carry those exact ones here at my day gig
I know what I'd spend my day doing if I had access to a panel of those. I need to get a couple just to carry around so when people axe me what I'm doing I can tell them I'm playing with the toggel switch in my pocket.

we sell them to companies that make panels for high RPM Electric Motors

Interesting. My son fixes and wires control panels for factories and other industrial stuff. He was in Houston a couple weeks ago working at the biggest jet fuel refinery in the US fixing some sort of issue with their controls. You should see some of the toggels he's shown me pictures of....huge. One of them was for voltage, you had to pump it a few times before you could turn it to the on position.

OK .... folks ..... the end of the poll has come ... Phaser and dual drive are still tied ... so what I'm going to do is ...

run a modified Whetstone Phaser and a Dual drive .... they will be 200 shipped each .... and if you want both I'll knock 50 clams off .. so 350 shipped for the two .

soooooo let's hear some ideas for the Dual drive ... what do you want to stack ??? ..... it will be one into the other ... no flipping order .... and I'll put separate ins and outs for both circuits so you could run them individual ... or have a loop between the two ... and if the loop isn't used the first circuit will run into the second automatically

Once we get 3 or 4 good ideas ... I'll do another poll to see where we are at as far as majority opinion
Drive and EQ. Like a Wampler Equator, but an actual overdrive vs. alot of level.

Yeah, not sure how you guys figure all them electronics out. I can wire a motorcycle or an old car as long as it's vintage Chevy level wiring. If it's Honda forget it, I don't want to tear all my hair out, and if it's household that's just a way for me to get killed.

you just got to find Ground ...........

A Rangemaster and an EP could be cool if they effect different frequencies. The EP is great with the mid to upper mid boost, and a Rangemaster is more of an upper mid to treble boost. Would engaging both have too much overlap in the upper mids?

I would rule a rangemaster clone out due to cost and availability .... NOS Germanium Transistors are expensive .... Smallbear would be the only place I would get them from and trust ..... and they usually limit your quantities to one per purchase ...

now that doesn't mean we can't rule a silicon version out .... like the Catalinbread Naga Viper
