New 15W Mark Tremonti PRS Amp at NAMM

It should sound like a bigger amp by using actual 6L6's versus 6v6 or EL84's. Probably just driving them with a lower plate voltage getting 15 watts, tubes would last a long time in that amp if that's the case. I've never really heard and EL84 amp that thumps like a EL34 or 6L6.

Looks like a great pricepoint and options.

I have no idea how they did it but
Preliminary reports say it's the real deal
No fart on the low and no fizzy top that plague the el84s
It's pretty amazing it sounds like a big amp

Tom will not fail us. My only concern is that hearing the amp without an accompanying sub blowing his hair back will prejudice his review....

I used to have a Marhall Artist 30 watt head that used 2 el-34's. It sounded damn good but could not compete with my drummer, "even through a 4-12 cab". But he is a heavy loud drummer.

And the price is killer.

How's this compare (you reckon) to the Ironball. It reminds me a little of that amp...which I've always wanted to try.

I know it's Strange lil lunchbox sounds like a Recto

It's hard to know what will happen when the master gets cranked will the bass crumble or will it stay tight and hold together
The 6l6 definelty make it sound much bigger than the el84 minis including the Recto IMO

It pains me to say this but there is too much gain in that thing
One of the above clips the guy was playing the gain on 2 and you were already well
Past your Ozzy Preist 80s stuff
It's taken many years but I am tapping out
I cannot imagine this thing with gain on 10
