Maybe I'm late to the party, but this is the first time I've seen these. What makes them different from the Heritage G12-65's ?

I'm assuming they are made in China and are at a lower pricepoint than the "Heritage" line. But what about tonal differences

This looks VERY interesting! About time they get into the high powered greenback game. I have a weber legacy scummie clone (for lack of better word) on order and have been thinking of a partner to fill out the highs. Lynchback and V30 were top of the list, this may get a consideration.

if there's ANYTHING out there that the companies can expliot then they will. Us dumb guitar players are the one's who keep buying into the BS. :D

Sooo, you're curious too.

I'm intrigued. Spec wise seems very close to the G12-65 Heritage except for a little more low frequency response in the Heritage. Also the Heritage is quite a bit heavier (weight) despite both speakers having 35oz magnets.

G12-65 is smoother. Can be too.smooth for my amps which are warm and can he dark. The G12M-65 has more upper crunch and better highs, has the Greenbacks mids, very vocal, tight bass. I orders them for my Stone Age 212C.
I was told it is the best and closest Celestion had gotten to a high powered GB.

Sounds like it might be Celestions response to the M75 scumback craze. I agree that G12 65's can get too smooth once broken in. Have an old one that came with my JCM800 combo. Nice speaker but doesn't dig in enough for me..

I've never understood the groundswell of love for the G12-65. I always hated those speakers in 800 cabs. Would always look for a 75 loaded cab or one with G12-H30's back then. They always sound too smooth and had no roar or bite to them. I think a lot of what makes the greenie special is it's power handling. If you need more power just get more speakers. I like what I've heard on the blackbacks (late 70's flavor) that scumback has coming out.

+1 on those blackbacks.. they sound great in the clips.

Skoora, my days of having 412 cabs are over....but I still want a greenbacks cabinet. So, I need high powered greenbacks. I have talked to some insiders and these Creambacks are the real deal. I am excited and will give a full report. These are not super smoother like G12-65 speakers. These apparently have that roar, bite and growl.

New Celestion G12M-65 Creamback

I once creamed on the back of his 65yo woman named Celeste when I was in grade-12, but I don't see how that could possibly be related.

Sorry.

The one thing I really like about trying celestions, is the resale value if I don't like them. The same can't be said for WGS or other speakers that are similar. Does anyone know what the price point will be on these?

I did a quick google search and they are $165 everywhere. http://www.zzounds.com/item--CELG1265

By comparison a Scumback M75 -65Watt is $169.

I am interested how the creamback compares to the M75 tone wise.

The Celestion dude over at TGP said they are UK made. I thought the T-75s were supposed to be high powered greenbacks? I guess these must be even "greenbackier"

Your link is to a G12-65 speaker, not the new Creamback. I don't think they're supposed to be available till May or June.

Not sure what they based the Creamback speaker on for a tonal reference, but I'm pretty sure it's NOT supposed to be an M75 pre rola type tone. If it is, I think they probably got the name wrong and should have named it something in their Heritage line...but...hey...it's their speaker. They can call it whatever they want.

;)

That's what I get for multitasking.... :(
