I was so flippin' close to pulling the trigger on a 5153. Now I must wait and see what this one's all about.

They should call it the EVH 1978! Assuming it's a Bassman, modded to be more like a Plexi circuit plus...whatever EVH and Fender throw in there!

Like posted above.....what ever comes off the line is going to kick some ass.

Just speaking the truth, I stressed my
Point to the EVH camp, what else can I say.

I am more interested in this new amp than the new evh lunch box 25watt amp. I am going to do more research on that power scaling feature, sounds cool.

It wasn't your idea, it wasn't what you said in some question/answer thing on the EVH site that made them do this, you're just delusional, what else can I say?

Steve

Yeah sure Nitro cause you're the only guy that ever said he wanted this...in the last 37 years...OK...really? WTF is with people these days...people have been chasing that tone since 1978 dumb ass....

Howard Kaplan said he already delivered the prototype to Ed and he was real gassed about it but nothing was written in stone yet. When asked if it was a plexi circuit or high gain,he said it was high gain.

they already did this, it's called the standard 100w's blue channel.

I asked Howard Kaplan if the prototype was high gain circuit or a plexi circuit..he said high gain, what a bummer

Probably basically the same amp designed to accept EL34's for more 'grind' and sustain

How simple of a job is that to do? Steve? Anyone?

IMHO "Grind and sustain" got nothing to do with poweramp types. The SLO is quite a grinding and sustaining amp with with 6L6/5881.
The original 5150 was "In vein" of that, but ended up something completely different.
I getting really confused about this thing, due the tone we all love was a "bone stock Marshall Plexi" and a monster player.
I would love to see something like the Marshall YJM, single channel, non master volume with proper power scaling, built in reverb, echoplex preamp and a noise gate with some Eddie insight.
That I would be really interested in.
If it's just a 5153 with EL34. Sorry, I pass.

If they can pull off the same thing as the 5150 vs the 6534+ then I think this could go somewhere nice.
