Just picked up a JJ 100 and loving this amp so far. I play a lot of hard rock and metal and I need a cabinet that has that "thunk" but still retains, crunch, definition and clarity. I'm currently using a Mesa over sized straight 4X12 (V30s) and also have two Fryette cabinets. All are very good, and seem to have some of the characteristics that I want but not all. (Mesa has the thunk but I feel I lose some clarify, definition and crunch and the Fryette is the reverse)

What cabinets have you all used with your JJ's? Obviously Friedman is a top choice and I am seriously considering one. Just want some ideas and opinions from experienced users of these amps.

Thanks,
Jeff

I used a PRS Stealth Cab with V30s and a Splawn 4x12 loaded with Scumback BM-75s. i actually preferred the Scumback loaded cab for most of the JJ tones. The V30s tended to sound a little harsh to me on the higher gain settings but they were good on the cleans.

Hah hey man! I think I know you.... Thanks for the advice =D.

friedman cab... i tried like 5 different cabs before giving in... no contest for me

Thanks guys. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for a Friedman here in Chicago used. I'll definitely pick up a 4X12 if I can find one.

Right now though, I am really liking the two Fryette/VHT cabs I have with it. I have one Fat Bottom 2X12 and one Deliverance 2X12, both with P50Es. Actually kind of like the Deliverance more than the Fat Bottom, but they do work well together. The Mesa standard (oversized) was too bassy and boomy and also a bit too compressed and just not as versatile for my needs. (Sold it)
