New Les Paul - Advice Please

I bought a used '73 Les Paul Deluxe for that price. I just love it to death. Don't overlook mini-buckers!

The mini-buckers Gibson used in the Deluxes were made by Epiphone.

I picked up a 2016 Standard it is one of the best playing and sounding LP's I have eve owned.... and I have had a few. Beautiful top ! It is the Standard T. Weighs just over 10 pounds. Love it!

Thanks... I looked at those, but the weight relieving and the zero fret nut throw me off a bit. I like the idea of the titanium saddles and a few other appointments, so it's not out of the question...

I'm still waffling on what I want and how much to spend. I don't know why, but I always feel guilty spending money on "wants". Especially when it's another guitar, since I'm a half-assed rhythm guitar player. I have it, I can afford it, but somehow I've gotten frugal and practical in my old age

Hell, I still can't decide which model I really want. I'd love to have a great Les Paul, but I've always wanted a J200 and an ES-335. I have a couple of Taylor's, but the J200 is a different animal from an acoustic standpoint. And an ES-335 would be awesome. It's probably going to come down to playing them all before I can make a decision.

I'd get the third LP on your list. Gibson is no longer making Historic Reissue Les Pauls. They are now solely custom order thru the M2M program (more $$$ & long wait time) or limited dealer runs, under a different name.

Sweetwater won't be getting those other two LPs back in-stock. Grab that R8 now, while you can.

Yep. For sure. Major discussion for the last few months on the LP Forums. No more Historic Reissues.

The gloss actually costs more to make, more buffing/polishing/labor required... and you get to relic it yourself!

I never was a fan of the VOS finish... too dull... cause it's the same production sequence minus 2-3 final buffing/polishing steps. And I like to add my own dings, dents, scuffs and aging.
