I fucking really wanted this guitar from the Mod Shop and kept futzin about and pussy-footin and never put the order in. When it finally sold, I was annoyed. But then this guitar popped up from the Mod Shop. I slept on it for exactly one night, woke up in the morning and realized that I'd be pissed if someone else bought it. So my bank account is pretty angry, but I am extremely happy.

This is the first time I've bought a new Gibson since 1997. I'm actually quite impressed with how it plays from the factory. The neck has a tiny bit of relief, action's good, intonation's good, nut seems fine, but only time (and the G string) will tell.

I have a rule for Les Paul purchases these days: no pickguards and no pickguard holes.

I haven't even plugged it in yet lol.
Bridge is DC-High Gain.
Neck is 57 Classic.
I have no idea what pickups are in any of my other Les Pauls, but I figured someone might ask.

I love the witch hat knobs.

That’s an attention getter guitar for sure

Congrats !!!!

By the way , is that a new guitar for an 80’s tribute band you’re in/or going to be in ?

If so, it’s perfect!!!!

Congrats on the new guitar! There are a few of us that can help you ID your pickups if you ever get the urge.

I have an all mahogony studio that I dropped a set of 57/57+ in. the neck is a little muddy (a la woman tone) but great pickups. Probably never taking them out. I am a fan of the 57 classics. They break up fast with an agressive pick attack and I can do old school thrash easily with them.

Whats the bridge pickup model? I don't recognize it.

Is that a maple top?

I ordered a V direct from Gibson (unseen) and it had lighter streaks in the rosewood. still plays great and a good setup like your LP out of the box, but you never know what you are going to get until you get it!

Your guitar looks awesome!

I don't claim to be an expert on Gibson pickups, but I've heard of the usual suspects like PAFs, 57, 498t, but I've never seen or heard of DC High-Gain. Here's a screenshot from the listing:

Yeah, the top is maple on a mahogany body.
Fretboard is rosewood. You didn't ask, but maybe someone else will want to know.

Also, I dig the new allen adjustable bridge screws. Mine had a graph tech nut.

I use a little lube in the slots and on the saddles and I haven't had any tuning issues with EB regular slinky 10s (yellow)FWIW.

It was meant to be. The light color with the light fretboard on the first one really struck me as kinda blah. This one is hot.
