Exactly...

But it's worrying how many people think that the whole world wants to listen to their art... And then complain when they don't become the next Pink Floyd.
That's a little blown out of proportion compared to what I said. I said look at bands like the Alice In Chains, Foo Fighters, Chevelle, Radiohead, etc. who are still moving forward with their music and keeping it fresh and creative and not just rehashing the same old overdone b.s. I'm not saying every band has to be artsy fartsy and write stoner-rock, just that it's nice when someone writes from the heart and not the checkbook.
And I was only addressing the matter because you said you didn't understand where people's problem with this band comes from. Well, I told you. Are Nickelback way more successful than any of us will ever be? Hell yes, I'm just talking about finding and riding that fine line where you can still write creative fresh music while maintaining some level of success and fortune. It's obviously tough to do and not many bands do it. At the end of the day, it's all pop music anyway (as in popular) and I'm damn sure Nickelback is living it up and very happy with their career.

And skyhigh, I previously mentioned that I think it's cool that you guys are enjoying yourselves. Congrats on the upcoming gigs as well. I'm simply stating my humble opinion, and it just so happens that many people agree with this opinion. But you guys probably dislike many of the bands/artists that I respect and enjoy listening to, so it's all good right? Different strokes for different folks.

It's all good! I'm so used to people slagging on the bands whose music I play or like for years now, that it just makes me laugh most of the time.

Oh, I wasn't aiming that one at you. Just a general observation from people that I have met...
