How is that new pickup that Wade made for you?

Which guitar do you have it in?

T-rex?

would love to hear your thoughts on it.

I know Mark Day seems to like it!

i know he's got 'em in his les paul custom and mark day absolutely loves them

as soon as i asked dave for a pickup recommendation, he recommended the motor city "t-wrecks"

i'll let him do the rest of the talking though...

Pickups are fun. There are a lot that sound good just slightly different. The t-wreck is a pickup that has its roots in a Gibson t top but with Wades own twist. I has a great warmth and gain to it. Seemed hot but it's not really. Very juicy pickup.

Very cool! One day if I get another guitar, I will have to consider it. I am thinking about one day getting another Les Paul or Les Paul clone. I would want one of Wades pickups in it.

The 2nd Degree Blackbelt is just killin in my Frankenstein!

2nd degree is my fav

Hey Stan, do you still have a Blister Bucker? How does it compare to the 2nd degree?
Well I have both, and they are not even remotely similiar IMO. The Blister is an Angel Dust with an A2 mag, and is considerably hotter than the 2nd Degree. 2nd Degree also has an A5 mag as well.

I've always thought that the Blister Bucker was more of a hot rodded JB where as the 2nd is more of a PAF.

Whats the difference between the t-wreck, 2nd degree and detroiter.

I have a few sets to include 2nd Degree's and Hot Heads and Afwayu.
All are in LP's, I think I like the Hot Heads the most but I really like the openness and clarity of the 2nd degree's. The Hot Heads are a bit more compressed but still very "woody"

I would like to try a T-wreck

I have the T-Wrecks, the 2nd Degree Blackbelts, and Afwayu (neck)! All are great and in LP's.
Detroiter really the same as old production "Atomica" pickup Wade used to twist up.
How are they different?!? Wow, that's a big question! Different resistances and wire gauge and symmetric and asymmetric winding, wax-potted and not.
I really like the Afwayu in the neck. They are VERY hot (like 16k) but just have a great "blues" compression about them.
The 2nd Degree and T-Wrecks are like Vintage Hot...vintage with extra windings. The T-Wrecks I believe are 42AWG. They come in a couple magnet types and usually Alnico V, but I wanted to replicate the Gibson Super 74's in the Rhoads reiusse guitar, so I had Wade put Alnico IIIs in! Sound great!

Anyone here tried Detroiter, 2nd, t-wreks ect... in alder HSS strat for 80 metal....

I would look at the Angle Dust or the Black Iron...although Detroiter would probably do. The 2nd is basicaly a kick ass PAF, so for early VH, definitely.

Which One of the MCP would get me close to VH "Fair Warning" sound. 2nd Degree Blackbelts or T-Wrecks?

Hey guys. If you don't mind me asking. I'm building an LP Jr from a kit from PrecisionGuitarKits.com and it custom LP Jr kit. Just one hum, flat top body made of Mahogany and maple neck and maple fingerboard. I'm wondering what pup would give me the PAF on steriods tone from Motor City? Thanks so much..

2nd Degree Black Belt for Vh and also the paf on steroids thing.

i pulled the bridge t-wreck out to try a PRS pickup. i really liked it for the classic rock crunch. WHY do we do this to ourselves. Anyway, it measured 7.83k, so like i said, vintage-hot paf bridge.

For mxr2000...the 2nd degree blackbelts have a great vh sould as dave pointed out n very clear note definition, i have a pair in my 72 LP custom. but the closest to the vh sound i think would be the Detroiter n as indicated above n wade told me, it's the current name for the previous "Atomic" pickup he had.

I don't like the Detroiter for vh or really anything. Just my personal taste. The 2nd degree does it great. Also everything depends on the guitar it's in.

What Les Pauls did you try them in? I've got that Norlin factor here... Mahogany/Maple/Ebony when it's usually Mahogany/Mahagany/Ebony.

For my LPC I'm on the fence over 2nd's and T-Wrecks... For the Rampage, I gotta get the Afwayu.
