So my broke ass made an impulse buy of the Tamura modded tube screamer. I was thinking they were only going to make 100 units so it would be a good investment. Unfortunately the 100 was the first run so there will be at least 100 more made.

First impressions, I compared it to my Duality Dx which is my main boost(It does everything I need and just sounds good for my taste). I also have the Standard Maxon OD808 that is my baseline in comparisons.

I was thinking of immediately selling it and getting my money back but I ended up setting it up where I could toggle between the 3 boosts. I gotta say Im really digging it. It sounds really juicy and the mid hump isnt AS bad as the run of the mill tube screamers.

One other observation is this thing is eff'n heavy. Like if feels like it ways twice as heavy as my other pedals. I used it to boost the 2203 model on my quad cortex and I gotta say I could be happy with just this and a 2203 together. Not some super fancy modern rig with some headshell made from endagered species and componets from a super secret lab in the 1950's.

Is it worth $350? Man I'm not sure on that. But it's cool to have a pedal modded by the inventor and signed. If it holds value I'm good.

I like the Maxon OD808 a lot as far as OD808 variants go but this is similar but more if that makes sense. Its almost reminds me of a tube screamer mixed with a Klon clone. It has definitely has some mojo to it. I figure Im going to keep it cause it seems like a gold standard for a tube screamer.

A few on reverb for stupid money and whats up with those kingsley pedals, stupid money also.

Cool!

I've been trying to replace that QC 2203 model with a capture for over two months now
and it's still sitting in the Marshall slot. Love it on Day one and still loving it.

I kinda did the same a few years back with the Ibanez handwired 808. They are "limited edition." Maybe that means they are limited to 7 million models because I have never seen them stop selling since 2013. But luckily, it is by far my favorite boost I ever used. Just has that perfect sound for me. I hear the Maxon 0d808 is great too.

Yeah I've been using the QC 2203 and this pedal all week. It just sounds fantastic. I like that model regardless but one you hit it with this tube screamer it gets really complex sounding.

It looks like they are only doing two runs but then they are doing some other pedals with Tamura.

I know I mentioned it before but this pedal weighs a good bit. I hope that translates to durability. I think my pedal board is going to consist of this, mxr 10 band, carbon copy and deadweald Golem.

Guitar > pedal > QC input? Or you using the pedal in a loop?

I have a nice AM Prince of Tone pedal I need to try with mine.
