Two questions:

Where can I get ac chords that are cut to length like that or did you do that your self. Would love to find 1 foot 1.6 foot and 2 foot ac chords.

Pedal power AC what is plugged into that? I wonder if plugging the Decimator prorackG would help the EMI noise that thing can add.

No matter if I used the lift switches on the ProrackG, cut the lifts of cables or do any of the tricks Buck Wahler suggets. I still find all my high gain amps are quieter with the prorackG not in the mix, vs when in the mix and bypassed. I think it really needs its own isolated power. I wish the made a power conditioner(that is not huge or super expensive) that had each outlet completely Isolated form eachother. Like a Pedal power II but for rack gear:

I also had too much emi noise when I used pedals in the loops of GCX before the amp. I had to really move my pedals around or attept to position the cables for the pedals a certain way to limit noise, I just gave up on using the pedals in my rack setup. If soemthing adds any kinda a noise I wouldnt keep in setup.

I cut the A/C lines to the proper length.
The PP a/c powers the Decimator, GCX and the MiniMix.

Do you find the PP A/C is better to reduce EMI or ground loop noises versus just using a regular power conditioner? Why did you choose that route isntead of a fuhrman or something?

There is a Furman power conditioner. I HATE wallwarts and I have had good results with the Voodoo Labs stuff. I have not done a test for EMI, etc however I find the rigs are quiet and the convenience of not having wallwarts is worth it to me :)

How do you power the GCX with the PP A/C, the GCX takes a different type of connector then the barrel connectors that come with it. Did you have to special order one?

It's a 4 pin DIN to 2.5mm. I made this one but you can order them direct from Voodoo Labs :)

Super work as always Mark and cool tour before the gain presentation :D

So that endirol unit, how much work do you do after capturing the audio? Any mastering working going on? Just asking as I am looking for a solution like that.

Well, I ordered a PP A/C, sucks though. My dunlop rack wah uses 24 vac so I dont think I can power that up with it.

The PP a/c has two 12vac ports(series will give you 24v). You can get VL to make a cable for it and it will work for your Wah. Check with VL re: all the units you want to put on this supply, see if it is sufficient, you may wind up having to get 2 PP a/c.

It has 2 9v a/c then 2 more(high current) 12 or 9vac ports. You can only use the 9 or 12 for the hc ports not both on ea port.

I have always put the GCX and the ISP on their own hc port.

I use a Creative Vado HD camera and an Edirol R09-HR to record. I bring both files into ProTools (I used to use Garageband but Mac fucked up the AVI compatibility in GB with Leopard :gethim: ).
I then sync the two files up so the audio matches the video ( a surprisingly easy task). I then kill all the guitar audio on the camera audio file but keep the speaking parts. I use an Waves LL3 Ultramaximizer to boost levels and an Renaissance EQ for low cut and to bring down 12+Khz. I then export as a Quicktime movie (.mov). I used to convert the video so I could bring it into iMovie09 but I stopped doing the fancy title thing....I wish Mac would get off their asses and support the avi files :)
