IMHO, bring the kick drum down in the mix a bit. Actually, the entire kit could come down. Other than that, cool song.
Ya I agree with this all . Good stuff . Drums should go down . But in all fairness the drums on most stuff today is just overkill and loud .

Cool song Jeff........I enjoyed listening to it!:2thumbsup:

You just needed a ripping solo after the mid point bass breakdown..........................:m17::yes:

Pantera was about perfectly mixed . I wouldn’t say they are too loud . More like 2025 metal mixes . Drums are so fucking loud
Here’s modern mixing as I hear it now :
Loud af kick drum and snare . Put loud af vocals on top. Ok now let’s put guitars in bass in the middle of those 2 with lots of compression on them .Then let’s add a layer a synth on top of the guitar/ bass so the guitars notes are not heard . But you feel it still
And oh ya make sure it’s mastered loud as fuck . And boom the kids eat it up becausw the drums are so heavy lol
Edit: I’m not talking about @jeffs production

Tight work, man!

Outside of the already-stated drum volume (if you used a parallel comp on the drums, that’s likely what’s pushing them forward), I’d just suggest some layering on the vocals; when that chorus comes in the extended “Whyyyyy” would be great doubled/tripled/quad tracked as unlike doubling guitars, when it’s done with vocals it can smooth out some pitch drifts while changing the dynamics of the vocals from the verses, and a harmony on that ‘do I believe in you’ part would just get that section popping out a bit more. Or vice versa, harmony on the “Whyyyy” and a double on the ‘do I believe in you’, or a different harmony.

loaded new version backed off drums and added a slight flange to chorus.

Thanks a bunch guys for the ears and encouragement!
I like the much more forward guitars now:2thumbsup: But I think you could push the drums up just a smidge.

Maybe try a harmonizer on the vocals, ala Ozzy.

Mix sounds good. Nice vocal melody. It sounds good.

Constructive feedback: I think your voice sounds great. Very natural and you can sing really good. If you’re planning to release, I would recommend either redoing the off key parts or using Melodyne or something to tune them a little closer to in key. Don’t take that wrong man, I’m just trying to help. I think you’re close to having a really cool catchy tune. Double tracking the vocals really makes a difference also.

Of course if you’re just doing for here and to share with friends and things like that, then it’s all good.

Working hard on my songs and I really appreciate the help from the rig talk brotherhood!

Would love to hear the vox double tracked. Bet they'd sound real full and it'd add a nice effect to the song.

Good songwriting.
