Sometimes, I'm astonished at the asshats on this forum. I mean, when you can't respect a pro who goes out of his way to demo gear for everyone, you've got to just punch yourself in the balls IMO.

You're the man Pete.

+1 with Dave.

Sometimes I do, not all the time though. I enjoy my life, but when I need an extra second of amusement...

Anyway... Lets go Rangers !!!

was kind of an interesting discussion until the strange juvenile derailment.... perhaps we could talk IR's and recording again? Anyone game...?

I wish things could be kept professional and informative on the web. You can't go more than a couple post on any thread, topic, website of any kind without somebody showing their ass and saying things they would never say to a person face to face.

Yes please, back on track!

Pete, I have a question, I'm using a PDI-03 as my reactive load. I run my amps into that then into the AxeII to get my IR's and effects.

Just wondering if you've had a chance to compare the Palmer unit, as a load only, to the Suhr Reactive load. I heard the Palmer has an impedance curve similar to the V30. I don't know if that's the case but what do you think about these two in comparison?

And as for the Two Notes Torpedo Live, only reason I didn't go Two Notes when that unit came out is because it just seemed, quality-wise, the Palmer was built a bit better as a load unit. and I already had the Axe for IR's. Could I improve over this Palmer/Axe setup?

Excuse the rather basic question (I'm a bit out of the loop with these things) Obviously this is a really nice middle ground between modellers and micing real amps / cabs but can I use this setup for live monitoring in my DAW? Or is there too much latency with IR's to allow "live" playing?

ie: Guitar amp into SRL (speaker disconnected) into my DAW with a mic / cab sim enabled on the track for pretending to be Eddie Van Hooligan at 1am?

btw: There's a hell of a lot of different gear around these days and I really appreciate people taking time out to help in places like this and doing demos to show and explain what all this stuff can do. If anyone can do this to a sufficiently high standard to get paid for it then good for them.

Thanks Mr Chippy! Still trying to get my head around the fact that the "What amp for bedroom level playing" question seems to be almost redundant now - the new answer seems to be "Whatever you can sneak past the household purchase police" :)

The first clip was quite muffled sounding, but the new clip sounds fantastic. Great organic crunch! That SL-68 is a true beast of a Plexi.
