This thing's a cannon. It's got the red spruce top an rosewood sides, which is different than the typical SJ-200. I'll have to see where the action settles - right now it's a bit high which is a slog with a 12string. The fretwork is good.

I know that martins come with an unshaved bridge. So you have to sand them down to get the action low. Could be the same here.

I think it's luck of the draw. My SJ-200 6-string was very nice from the factory, but this is higher. Normally I would want to play a guitar like this ahead of time but I think maybe only one dealer (Music Zoo) orders these with the Red Spruce tops. Which was definitely worth it - a 12 needs all the headroom it can get.

The only question is if the top will drop a bit in the dry Colorado weather (even with humidification there's only so much I can do). Then I'll get the bridge done.
