Haven't bought a guitar in 10 years, it was time to do something... I wanted a Les Paul for a long time after playing on some friend nice early 70s black beauty. But I definitely wanted a lighter one. Enters the Axcess model I've been eyeing for some years but they are damn rare in Europe. I found a nice looking one on some german online shop. Here's a quick review: the guitar is really light and comfy ! Fit and finish are perfect and the overall tone is awesome even though it features the (much maligned in forums) 496R/498T combo. I thought the sustain would suffer from the lighter body but not at all. The coil-splitting option sounds surprinsingly great. The bridge pickup can handle any style up to death-metal easily. All in all, it sounds better than many Les Paul I tried and although it will not convince die-hard vintage purists, I can only advise open-minded Les Paul lovers to try one if they stumble upon a good deal... Great fiddle !

Pics from the store, I'm not a great photographer anyway...

Everyone needs a Les Paul. Mine pretty much sits out and begs me to play it. It is like a beautiful woman.

I usually use different guitars when I play out but this one stays out at home just because it makes me smile.

That is hot! I would love to have an LP with the shaved heal. My regular LP's will have to do for now though.

Agreed. I went from 1 bad experience and not liking them at all to wanting more. I'm a Charvel guy through and through but I love my LP.

Congrats, looks amazing.

Thanks ! Pics are not faithful, it's less red/yellow, more amber. Anyway, the top is very nice in person...

I wanted a plain top to start with but couldn't find one in Europe. I initially feared the flamed maple would look too bling but it's not that obnoxious in person. Or maybe I'm getting used to it...
