NGD Mayones Duvell Elite 7

I'm a bit behind on posting this, work & life have kept me busy. I got back into 7 strings a few years ago for the band I was in, I actually had 3 of them at one point. That ran its course, so I decided to downsize to just one 7 string. I've always wanted a Mayones, and I got a pretty solid deal on this one.

25.4" scale took some getting used to, but I actually love it. The neck feels like a million bucks. This has their BKP model, which I think is called the TKO; pretty strong in the upper-mids which adds some nice clarity, but doesn't play well with some amps. I love it with my boogies, and this new (to me) EVH 5150 III which is worthy of its own thread honestly. Very happy with this guitar, I might even keep an eye out for a 6 string version down the road.

I'm torn on the TKOs. They've got that typical BKP clarity, but not sure I'm in love with them yet.

What were you playing before where 25.4 was readjustment? Something longer with the other 7 strings?

Yes.

I had a multiscale that was 25-27” the PRS Holcomb that was 26.5” and an LTD Stef model that I think was 27”

I liked how the longer scale length affected to feel on the lower strings & it seemed to add some nice clarity as well. I did have a tough time playing those standing up when it came to tricky riffs in the lower register.

I absolutely get that.

They sound great for some things & on others they’re too bright for my liking. I’ll give them some time, but it I decide this guitar is a definite keeper I may explore some other options.

I like them better than the aftermaths I had in another 7.

Amazing axe! HNGD! Love the finish, very similar to my Les Paul.
