Odd, i found od pedals and eq's to work well in front of it as long as you dont boost it much. Unity gain or a hair above is cool.

I should probably try pedals in front again as a preamp thru my amp/cab or with monitors on. It's possible my headphones are so flat sounding and lacking in bass (Sennheiser HD 600) that it didn't seem as noticeable. Also sometimes if I do lots of jamming and testing thru headphones things start to sound the same eventually, and having tinnitus probably doesnt help me much  I was actually thinking of trying that Surh ACE cab sim pedal but maybe I should just screw around with the mooer and just be happy with it.

Damn! That sounds great! Gotta try one! :rawk:

Thanks! If you try one at your local shop make sure they have it setup right. I realize now that when I tried out several they had it hooked up correctly to the fx return but had the cab sim enabled which made them sound darker and distant sounding. Red light blinking = cab sim enabled for direct recording, red light solid = preamp mode. Good luck!

Damn, the first clip is good but the second clip kicked my ass.

Woa dude... I can't wait to try their Radar cab sim IR loader pedal. I recently plugged my 001 straight into a PA at practice for shits and giggles... I couldn't believe how good it actually sounded especially cranked up thru a PA.

I did the same which is funny because the cab sim is the weakest part haha.

Im gonna grab the ge-200 at some point. different amp models and seems that the minis sound better as per mooer, prob more money spent on the solo preamps but also seems like a perfect practice tool.

The radar pedal looks like a great product. I'm kind of underwhelmed by the preamp samples I've heard so far, TBH. I think folks buy these because they are cute and cheap and then are pretty surprised when they are not completely terrible and then they go 'check this out it's amazing' and then I hear it with ears that are NOT curving the grade for 'cute' and 'cheap'; just expecting the 'amazing' part. My own fault really, I 'spose.

As someone else noted it IS wild how much cheap stuff does not sound like utter garbage, which was true of nearly everything cheap back in the day.

I think mooer preamps are pretty cool for what hey are... I look at them as a very cheap and easy way to record straight into a interface/daw without having to invest in load boxes, IRs, software sims/cabs etc. Simple and straight forward.. but im sure they can sound amazing in the right hands with just the right amount of tweaking. Once in awhile I get blown away by tones some people can achieve using TSE X50 ;)

I recently wrote to Mooer asking if the Radar can load two impulses at a time like a software vst loader and they just replied today saying it can only do one at a time... kind of a bummer for me. Was kind of hoping for a low cost IR loader in pedal format that can do two at a time. The only hardware products I know of that can load two IR's at a time are the Torpedo Studio and AMT Pangaea CP-100FX-S... oh well, i guess I could buy two Radars and that would still be cheaper than a torpedo cab that can only load one IR at a time ;)

Dude I missed this when you originally posted! Sounds pretty damn good!

I posted in the two threads I have already been posting in about mooer preamps, noob.

You know, sharing more options with the people that use/like them.
