I should probably try pedals in front again as a preamp thru my amp/cab or with monitors on. It's possible my headphones are so flat sounding and lacking in bass (Sennheiser HD 600) that it didn't seem as noticeable. Also sometimes if I do lots of jamming and testing thru headphones things start to sound the same eventually, and having tinnitus probably doesnt help me much

Thanks! If you try one at your local shop make sure they have it setup right. I realize now that when I tried out several they had it hooked up correctly to the fx return but had the cab sim enabled which made them sound darker and distant sounding. Red light blinking = cab sim enabled for direct recording, red light solid = preamp mode. Good luck!
