Charvel 2005 USA Reissue (NOS)!!! I returned the Music Zoo Natural Mahogany Series and picked this. Sounds and plays much better than the TMZ Charvel IMO.

Thnx!!! This thing plays like butter especially with 10s on it and rocks though the Atomica. All I need to change out the JB with the Aldrich I have coming or another killer pickup!!!

Killer guitar. I have the same one but with a maple neck. The early reissue pointy headstock Charvels are great players. I put an Afwayu in mine.

I have a slightly underwound Afwayu in my Carvin Alder Bolt T+!! Killer pickup but they are being taken out for an Angel Dust bridge/2nd Degree BB neck. The Afwayu is mean and huge, but it has a little too much bass for me in the Carvin. Maybe I will try the Afwayu in the Charvel.

Happy NGD! If it is a basswood body, it is a replica of the model 2. I have had an old 80's JB in my model 2 since about '88 and I am finally going to replace it. Wade from MCP suggested an overwound Angel Dust for that guitar in a hard rock context. If the body is alder, like the recent USA Pro Mods, something a bit fatter would probably be better. I have a BKP Holy Diver in my So Cal, which is good. I would like it a bit tighter, but many seem to like that combo. An MCP Afwayu would be similar.

I think it is an alder bodied guitar. The Angel Dust works well in alder bodied guitar at least in Jerry's Luxxtones. I have one coming for another Alder bodied guitar. I am not a fan of the HD. I had a set in an Alder bodied guitar and it was too thick IMO. I passed them on to my friend and he does not like them either.
