Gonna half to agree to disagree @The~Kid a little bit. I have three Strat-clones that were made in Japan, and the quality is as good or better than my American Strats. However, if I'm going to buy anything Fender, it's going to be made in USA or Japan. Both my two amps were made in USA (Friedman and Mesa). I also have a lot of leather shoes that are almost all made in USA.
All of my MIJ gear is very good; no complaints for the gear I have from Korea, China and Indonesia either.

Yeah I mean it's like 50/50 with guitars it's kind of like YMMV but IMO American amps are just way better than most imports if not all I've tried.

Short of like your Marshall right or Laney or something otherwise American Steel ^_^

Pedals I mean I count MIJ as MIA in that sense as they are that great but vs say cheap Chinese pedals or even higher priced ones the MIA/MIJ stuff is better there.....

Pups kind of same deal, never played any import pups that were any good...... the American stuff is better there too :dunno:

What's your fave piece of gear Made in the USA/MIA....... honestly from my pedals to pickups to amps......

As great as imports are........ the Made in the USA/MIA stuff is always better compared to it's imported counterpart on average by a considerable margin short of a couple exceptions and considerations.

For some somethings made in America/USA may not be so much better than the imported counterparts but IMO with the pickups, pedals (except for a couple exceptions such as MIJ) and especially the amps it really makes a difference.

Here's my fave piece of Made in the USA/MIA gear....... my Princeton Reverb Reissue 112 Bordeaux....... nothing else compares to the quality of an Made in the USA/MIA amp IMO ^_^

As the owner of a Hiwatt and a Matamp I find this post kinda funny.

There are plenty of MIJ Fenders and Gretsches, ESP's, Edward's, and others that blow this idea out of the water also.

Then there are the European and Japanese pedal builders that also prove this post is kinda short sighted.

Not taking anything away from your gear, and fwiw I'm a big fan of the Princeton Reverb. That's sweet gear you've got. But my Hiwatt and Matamp are handwiredl masterpieces of milspec electronics and bullet proof construction. I will say my MIA Reeves is every bit the Hiwatt's equal, but it is based on a Vintage Hiwatt circuit.

Yeah as said maybe not all the time and I did say well in some cases it's not always the case as with guitars but YMMV........

In general would say stuff like MIJ/MIA pedals or even cables for example are that much better than say cheap Chinese or even decent Chinese cables or pedals for example.

Obviously it's not always the case MIA stuff is better than all the import stuff for example look at CIOKS, arguably probably better than even the best MIA PSU.

For the most part in the States it's usually the MIA stuff vs a lot of the imports whether it be cheap guitars, amps, pedals, cables, accessories etc etc....... that happen to be Chinese for a majority of them and for the most part......

For some exceptions say Epiphones or Vox amps that yeah are MIC for example or Celestion Speakers or the tubes where yeah the quality can't be denied or say Indonesian imports too getting to MIJ quality or even MIM stuff now nvm MIJ stuff in general alot of the MIA stuff IMO like amps, pups and yeah pedals still carry value IMO especially vs a lot of the MIC/Chinese stuff in general.

Maybe if Fender made the RIs in China they would be as good but yeah....... who knows...... I doubt for example even as good as the MIM 68 Customs are too and better than most Chinese amps too IMO the MIA stuff is still better.

For me really wasn't an MIA dude before or really got it until I bought the Princeton........ never really thought about it and kind of just got it because it sounded great and there was nothing Ive played like it before. Kind of never really sat down to play a Fender wanting to buy a Fender until then and was sort of just killing time at GC waiting for a movie or something. But I must have tried a lot of different things before even Victoria amps which IMO are pretty amazing or Industrial Amps which are also pretty amazing but nothing never really pushed me to buying them........ The Princeton really did that...... I didn't really need it but it was sort of impossible not to get it after trying it...

Maybe there are better amps build wise or in general but for the money, the quality there for what it is and thats not bad either I've yet to play anything kind of better not just for what is and what it does but in general. Especially with pedals, which I wasn't expecting it to be great for that or planning on using it for that but it just worked fantasticly with a Fuzz Face and after that I was sold. With a 12 it's got more headroom than a Deluxe too which break up earlier by comparison Imo and short of a Twin, just tons of headroom.

Maybe it's nothing but to me and for somethings MIA/Made in the USA still matters like with Fender amps IMO. And as good as my Chinese Epiphones are and they really are that damn good especially with Gibson Burstbuckers and that long/deep tenon build...... yeah one day I see myself getting a Gibson too because I've tried a couple and well the Epiphones are great but there is still something to be said about a Gibson USA IMO.

And yeah there are some imports such as MIJ/European stuff for example that is as good or better but MIA/Made in the USA is still the standard world round in terms of gear IMO 😎

It's cool if you like USA made, I support it. As a guitar player having played a ton of quality guitars and owning high end guitars, I will die on the hill that the newer mayones I own are far superior to my recent PRS Private stocks. My ESP custom shop as well. It isn't even close in terms of QC either.

Jeez where are the Larivve and Eastman owners.......

Am I right :dunno:
My Eastman T64/V is an amazing guitar that feels like a well worn in vintage '60s 330 at a fraction of the price, and comes stock with Lollar vintage wind P90's. I've played Gibson, Heritage, Guild, and Gretsch hollow bodies, and the Eastman holds its own just fine in feel and tone.

If you ever go to Guitar Center Hollywood and check out the wall and the private room..........

I mean I think I may have seen a Godin up there or something but for the most part........ It's all Gibsons, Charvels, PRS, Suhrs and the most amazing Fenders you'll probably ever see short of the ones in a Musuem or their MasterBuilders orders.......

And they are all MIA and American guitars Made in USA, same with the amps on the floor for the most part.......... mostly all MIA and made in the USA.

Now yes it is in the States and all but people that live around the area can afford pretty much anything and demand anything from any part of the world and still MIA/Made in the USA is the standard when you walk into a Private Room like that IMO.
