What's the secret to getting the tru-oil finish so perfect?

I've tru-oiled a couple necks and while it works good, I just can't seem to get it to look as good as some others..

That neck is gorgeous.

Mix it down with mineral spirits and use paper towels as posted. On and off. The spirits thins it out so it goes on smooth and easy. You can also maintain it nicely with a thin coat if ever needed with the oil and spirits. Tru oil loves mineral spirits.

i have a plate. Just hasn't put it on yet. Left it of in ace I wanted to tweak the setup some more.
