I was told by a friend back in the day, pre computer, that they saw a list the cops had of everyone they suspected of drug activity with dozens and dozens of names on it in small town USA. They have spies, narcs, snitches, informants, even without a computer.
I'm sure anyone who is on record purchasing weapons or tactical gear is on a special list someplace. Those who are loud about patriotic beliefs are likely higher on that list.
