NPD - Diezel VH4 Pedal w/video

I have a Laney Lionheart L20H and run a BE-OD, Diezel VH4 pedal and Piod What You Want 2 into the front of it. Using the right cab on my Torpedo CAB (using a Suhr Raeactive Load) is absolutely crucial to getting the right sound with each of those pedals. It'd be pointless running the Diezel through a Marshall with v30's it sounds thin and raspy. Shove it into a Diezel (OwnHammer "modern" I think) though and it sounds like a completely different beast - huge!!!

I love all three of the above pedals and the Diezel sounds incredible...what's more, it gives my little Laney a hell of a metal channel!

Anyone know why this pedal is not available in the US anymore?

yea thats wrong. you can buy them all day long from the guitar guru network

send him a message.

Maybe I should rephrase that; anyone know why the pedal is not listed for sale in the US anymore? They were all over reverb and ebay a few weeks ago.

They sold out fast. As new batches ship to dealers they will re-list I was told.

I had a dealer (Pitbull Audio) sell me one, take my Paypal, then advise me days later they were sold out...and "sorry". They refunded me, but that's kinda' lame.

Just tried out my new VH4 pedal yesterday afternoon. Bought it from a dealer on Ebay known as theguitargurunetwork. Very quick and easy transaction.

Regardless, I am the owner of an actual VH4 amp. It was my first 'real' amp purchase after starting guitar. It was THE sound I was looking for. Unfortunately, I am a bedroom player. Despite a very good master volume control, I just couldn't get the Diezel sound I was really after in a smallish room. Onto the pedal. I am floored! Finally the Diezel sound I've been searching for, and at a very reasonable volume in my room! Is it perfect? I suppose not, but much better than trying to play the actual amp at virtually no volume. ANYBODY who is a bedroom player and wants that Diezel sound should buy this. Anyone who wants nearly identical Diezel sound in ANY setting should also consider this.

I am running the pedal into the front of the amp. Turning the pedal off, the clean channel sounds perfect. With the pedal off, I switch to the distortion channel, and significantly more noise than was present without the pedal connected. To the point where I can't really use it. I did have to use a very cheap and flimsy pedal connector cable, as that is all I had available. Could this be the problem? I ordered a quality connector cable to try, just in case.

I bought a vh4 pedal and khdk dark blood from guitar guru network, they are legit and keith is easy to deal with and ships quick. so far ive ownly got to try it out for a couple hours but i like it. I just wished it was a little bit smaller because right now its too big to put on my pedalboard without having to rearrange everything. I ran it through the front of my amp on the clean ch and its definately got the vh4 flavor. I think most people will like it.

What do you think of the dark blood and do you like it better than the VH4 pedal?

I received my VH4 pedal yesterday, love it, sounds huge. I think my BE-OD will be on its way out.

I havent spent much time with the dark blood, i had to send it back to khdk because there was a problem with it being noisy, they think it needs a resistor replaced, i bought the red one that is signed by kirk. It sounded pretty good when i tried it. I wanted to put it on my pedalboard because the vh4 pedal is alot bigger and i dont have much space on my board without having to rearrange everything and delete some stuff. i also have a khdk od1 and love it.

Here is my take on it through a VHT 2/50/2. I really dig it.

what are the dimensions of the box on this? Looked on website and could see a reference to understand pedalboard fit.

Hi everyone!

So I thought I'd give a couple of tips using the "to power amp" output on the VH4-2 (assuming the VH4 has similar characteristics)

The volume pots are super hot especially if you're running in an effects loop. I'm using a Mooer Pure Boost (which does color the tone a little, but you can use it) as a suppressor to squish the signal back to manageable levels. Try using 9 o'clock or less to bring down the signal, and set the gain super low... unless you want even more harmonic gain, which isn't a bad thing see pic below:

Additionally, you can use the remote input to mute the pedal and switch channels using a relay(ie. COCO = on + channel 2). I have a TC G-System and utilizing it to sometimes bypass my amp's (Victory V130) front end for the thick Diezel tone.

Using the G-System in my configuration I have 3 effects loops, then 2 preamps (Diezel in loop 4, Victory V130 front end in Insert/loop 5) which you can set per preset.
