So, that Expandora pedal is the shit. I see why you put toilet paper on it. It's gainy as all fuck, and it does a cool fuzz when you back off the guitar volume. I really dig it.
The Coal Squeezer came out great. It was neck and neck with the shootout with my EQD Warden compressor. I got the same settings and could hear the difference where the Diamond clone was warmer and more studio-like and the Warden was sharper and got brighter. It was a lot easier to over-squash with the Squeezer though. I had to back it off a ton to match my usual settings, and set that subtle it's almost a wash between the two. More research is needed.
The Mistress is awesome. It is super luscious and warm. I've never been a huge fan of flanger, but I think I have a part for it in a new tune we're working out. I'm going to put it in the loop with my phaser and use it as an option. That give me three sweet modulation sounds, with the Big Stones being the other two.
The Anubis Fuzz is pretty sick. I got a usable sound out of it pretty quick. I then started throwing switches and turning knobs and I found a whole range of sounds. I'm not really a big fuzz guy, so the Muff style mid scoop is not my thing, but I dialed it back and got a usable sound out of it. I did a shootout between that and the Expandora clone, and I got a really similar sound. In the end, the Expandora was a hair thicker and has WAY more gain on tap. I wanted the Anubis to win though just because it looks so fucking great.
I didn't mess with the Zendrive yet. The OG is fit so tight on my board that I don't think I can logistically switch it out. I'm going to pry it off and do a shootout with the Warm Audio clone, the GA, and the OG sometime soon. Stay tuned.
