I got a bunch of new pedals lately besides the Wizard Gate, but decided to make separate threads. I’ve read some good things on here about this pedal and heard some really good sounding clips, so decided to get one and it’s become my new favorite Fuzz! I love a good Fuzz. I’ve been through so many, yet never heard one so over the top hairy/growly/nasty like this one. Some may interpret it as sounding broken, but that’s part of what makes it awesome too lol

I’ve got currently a ‘70’s Foxx Tone Machine, 2000’s Reissue Foxx Tone Machine (sounds ~90% as good as the original to me), a ‘90’s Russian Big Muff Bubble-Tall Font transitional model, Thorpy Boneyard, Formula B Soviet Tank, Bumblebuzz, & Danelectro French Toast if that says anything. Going from this Fuzz Bender to any of these others is like that effect you get when you taste something so sweet that Coca Cola all of sudden now tastes like seltzer. Makes them almost sounds like just an overdrive or light distortion pedal in comparison, like they’re not even fuzzes lol

I do have to admit though that underneath all this super gnarly Fuzz I still hear that plastic-y/filtered new-gear sound that I don’t like, but I’ve been thinking about getting another and looking into if maybe someone can upgrade some components to make it sound more organic like a good vintage pedal. Would greatly appreciate any help/input on that if anyone here has any. Those vintage ones I’ve got (‘70’s Foxx & ‘90’s Russian BM) definitely sound more organic, but the voicing of this Fuzz Bender is just so damn good and fun. It’s so nice to finally come across a piece of gear once in a while that is something I can always replace when if I had to from a store like a Guitar Center and reasonably priced. Most of my keeper worthy stuff sadly is either rare, expensive or both. Not this one thankfully

Said it in another thread a while back, I'm not much of a fuzz guy so my Fuzz Bender is my only one and I love it!

I’ve been eyeing the Rumble FX Twin Bender that has both MKI.V and MKII versions. Have you tried that one? The Keeley is on my list too

I have not, will look into it, but I believe my Thorpy Boneyard also has both those flavors in there. The thing is, I’ve tried some real tone benders and tons of boutique TB style pedals and I really didn’t like any of them besides this Keeley and Boneyard. Based on sound I wouldn’t have guessed either of these 2 would be TB based, but if they are they are. This is another reason why I don’t read too much into technical specs. Gotta go with what the ears hear

Well I trust your ears  After all you are a big fan of the Dano French Toast and that thing rivals most of the fuzzes I have in my collection. It is hands down the best value fuzz I've ever come across.

Oh yeah the French Toast is an awesome sounding Fuzz in any price range period. The real deal Foxx is still better, but the FT actually has a bit more aggressive mids than the real deal and less than 1/10 the price. It sent LOTS of very expensive fuzzes I had in the past packing, some of which were pedals that used to get raved about on here (don’t know why lol). But yeah right this Fuzz Bender would be the #1 for my taste of what I’ve owned/tried

Well you sold me man. There is one at a GC down the street from me so I'll try it out first but it will come home with me if its that good. I mean, all the videos I've seen on it sound awesome and I have favored them over other boutique builders so I'm sure I'll be happy.

Oh yeah, and one of those videos happened to be a...*gasp* Pete Thorn demo. I'm going to lose all of my RT street cred now :aww:

I think so! Plus from GC you can always return if for whatever reason you don’t like it

Fellow fuzz man! I have 8 fuzz pedals.
They're addictive when you "get" them.
Enjoy!
