Dude is talented. Local…sounds like Chris Stapleton…. But it’s country mostly. Acoustic…. I’m a grrrrr chugga chugga type dude… can’t do it….

Do it!

I remember the first time I was asked to play guitar in a country type gig. Really stretched me and it was actually fun. Got to play lots of slide too...

I’d get down on a country gig. Some of it can be pretty technically challenging depending on what it is. Can’t hurt to be more well rounded and learn something.

I've always enjoyed country gigs. Never done a primarily acoustic one though - I think my fingers would get sore if it was too many sets.

But the electric ones were fun. There's something to be said for playing music with current broad appeal. Like women at the gigs for starters.

Become a backup dancer with pasties and go go boots. To look professional you'll need 3 pasties, no more, no less.

I played in country bands all over northern WV, had a blast. The only chugga chugga you're gonna find is in someone's basement.

Yeah man show up with a triple rec and detune that tele to C.
Show them who the boss is

My #1 rule is never play music you don't love. I'd rather dig ditches or scrub port-a-johns.

Absolutely agree with this. But, back in the 90s, I had a chance to play with a Top 40 cover band. I initially hated the idea, but the guitarist who was leaving and a long-time friend pointed out to me that most of it was just pentatonic licks and I could have as much fun with it as I wanted to. He was right and it made me a better player, not rehashing a bunch of crap pentatonics, but going out on a limb to places I'd never been before. It really was what I made out of it and ended up being a lot of fun.

Country has a lot in common with early rock, so, just sayin'.
