Schon was using his PRS and a backline of Blackstar amps....I don't think Gibson will be too happy or did he already drop them? I thought he went from PRS to Gibson? His gear whore and endorsing abuse makes Lynch look like a an endorsement virgin. :D Only EJ is as bad as the two of them.

Schon got pissed I believe when shitson made the axess which was pretty much his sig model for way less.

LOL... Neal is a TOTAL endorsement/gear whore! But the guy delivers EVERY time. Actually, in reality he's probably the opposite of a good endorser... because no matter what or when he's playing he always nails it tone-wise and shreds it.

I wanted to catch this, but had to be at work and pretty much hate all of the stupid tabloid morning "news" shows anyways.

That's what I was going to say; I've seen Journey many times and, regardless of what gear he's using, his tone is his tone. It always sounds like "signature" Schon. (let's tip-toe past the "tone is in the fingers" discussion  )

If I'm not mistaken, they will also be on CBS Sunday Morning (or whatever it's called) on Sunday. They are playing in Indy next weekend, but I have committments and can't go. Would LOVE to see them with Night Ranger...

Oh yeah, he always sounds the same. He just likes cool new toys like us...lol.

I like how he says how great the Axefx is then says, "...live I use a "real amp." lol... I mean, wtf? So, it's great for what then? When he tours all over the world he uses his "real" amps, and when home and in the studio he plays with his axe AND his "real" amps? If I were Axefx, I would prefer he didn't praise me so much.

Darn, 97% of the focus was on teh youtube singer. Wanted to watch Neil. I'll bet most of the people in the crowd thought he was Journey's original singer....wonder if Steve was watching...and hating every second of it?

That singer doesn't sound like he's going to last long. Seems everybody that steps into that spot blows their voice eventually unless they get out early with the exception of Perry who hung in there for years before weakening.

Probably so.

Zat what happened to Steve Augierie (or however you spell his name)? Cause I thought that he was the best post-Perry vocalist -- not that there's anything wrong with the Phillipino dood.

I love Journey and Neal, but I can't take this "Arnel-era" band seriously......

I'd have to agree. Sounds much weaker than when they first found him.

I've heard Journey on several occasions, starting in the late 70's and I have noticed Neil's tone has gone through some dramatic changes. Sure, he's always recognizeable as NS, but there's a lot of variety in how he sounded in the 70's, the 80's, the 90's, and now.

The best post Steve Perry vocalist for Journey is working as a rent a cop in Cornwall Ontario.

Ah, might be a little too quick to jump to such a conclusion. For all we know, the kid could have a cold.

I just watched Journey's Live in Manila concert last weekend from start to finish, and the kid was on fire. He absolutely nailed everything - no squeaks, no strains and no "pitchiness" whatsoever.
