Ohms and multi cabs question….

So my 80’s crate cab is 4 ohms… my 1960 lead is 4 or 16 ohms and 8x8 stereo. My rec has two 4 ohm inputs so I’m good there. My avatar and mode 4 cabs are both 8 ohms. So set the ohms setting to 8 correct? 8+8=16…../2=8…. Right? Just don’t want to fuck up the pv…..

I'll keep this simple. 4/8x2+4 no, wait +3 no wait I was right the first time +5..I mean 4 -0/3.14+666=671

Turn everything you have to 671.

You should rewire the Crate cab to 16 ohms. If you do that you'll have 2 16 and 2 8 ohm cabinets so you can run two together properly.

Also, tube amplifiers with output transformers output the same power no matter the impedance so there's no output loss like on a solidstate amplifier which is probably why the crate was 4 to begin with.

Works good 👍! Crate and 1960 lead going to the rec and the 6505+ is driving the mode 4 and avatar. Just for the hell of it I ran them both with my Temu aby and it sounded gnarly together….. two full stacks is nice 👍

The two 4 ohm outputs on your rec (this one of the amps right?) are to feed two 8ohm cabs. If you feed two 4ohm cabs, the amp is seeing 2 ohms which is not good.
You need to set the ohm switch on the PV to 4ohms if you’re feeding two 8 ohms cabs.

What i do is if i have an ohm mismatch, just out one speaker cab in speaker output, the other into the return of the effects loop. It automatically matches the load
