What you recommend for a fender American strat bridge position humbucker. Alder body, rosewood board. Standard trem. Stock fender pu was muddy, lifeless. Have a custom 9.2 k, with a5 rc magnet in there right now that’s better, but I want a little more push. Im thinking 11 12 k. Good clarity. Nothing too hot…

DiMarzio Norton.
Not too hot, great clarity and harmonics. No ceramic magnet. Great split tone. Had one in my Charvel So-Cal; so Strat too with alder body, but maple neck and maple FB. Only reason I swapped it out, was to try the Norton in a different guitar.

SD Whole Lotta Humbucker 8.8-9K ohms. A-5 rough cast magnet
SD Saturday Night Special 9.75K ohms A-IV rough cast magnet
SD 78 model 9.1K, A-2 magnet

If that Strat has a standard Fender tremelo still the SD 78 9K would work well even with the A-2 magnet it still has clarity and punch.

All of these play, feel and sound hotter than their DC ohms resistance values. The only one I have not played personally is the Saturday Night Special.

I didn't mention the Norton, which I've also recently put in another guitar. However, I recall it being a little bassier, which may take away from the clarity a smidge? Either way, I dig it as well.

Hmm, I replaced another Norton with an AT-1 in a Les Paul, and to me the AT-1 was the slightly thicker/bassier of the two and the Norton had a pinch more hair on its teeth, which the EQ charts on the Dimarzio site seem to confirm.

Suhr aldrich is a good shout.

I'd say the Duncan SH14 is probably my favorite strat/strat scale length bridge pickup though

first off HBs don't belong in strats . this is why its a called strat \:D/ :p

I had a bridge Super D in my American Special. running about 13.3K with full HB and parallel switching IIRc about 8K.

but it didn't pair well with my other 2 texas specials. Plus it sounded very cold. I never really liked Supers but had this one laying around

so i tried an Area 61. I liked that better but then decide to just put back the original texas special wired to the tone. middle no tone

long story short i should have just left it the fuck alone and just wired it to the tone. it sounds great now
