Those Plexis were cutting threw the mix like a bunch of sailers through NYC hookers during fleetweek, been kistening for an hour now and only the VH4 IMO cut as well and the XTC.

My MK IV is history once I re-tube it.

Scott...you HAVE to try a Tim or Timmy with your Stock Super Lead. I'm using a Tim with a stock PPIMV '72 SL right now and the tone is simply amazing. Give one a shot before you decide to have it moded...TRUST ME on this one. These pedals were made to enhance the tone of a Plexi...

One is staying stock, the other is getting cut open

I am shooting for a HW 1959 and the SLP goes to Canada.

First off, i agree with you that a good s/l with a boost pedal and PPIV m/v can be the shiznitt!! I have one... But The great thing about Mikes Mod is that with a flick of a switch you can get that sound and more. MUCH MORE. Mikes mod incorperates 2 different gain mods with different bright switches and with a flick of a switch you can get the stock sound or gained out sound depending on how you set it. The amazing thing about the mod is that you can choose to boost it with a pedal when set in stock mode and you'll get the sound you are talking about but you also have the added flexability of the gained out mod on hand as well as the combination of different bright switches. The master volume that;s in his mod will also piss all over a PPIMV and that's coming from a guy who has a PPIMV. I wouldn't run out and do this on an old vintage amp and Mike would also tell you the same but Id do it in a hearbeat on a re-issue , Metro, ceriatone or in my case a 72 that's been modded a few times lol :D

What I am thinking and screw owning just one Marshall

Guys, I had the privilege to be the first guy, besides Mike obviously, to plug into the Meathead. I was flabbergasted at what I heard and FELT. I won't go on and on as you will see for yourselves next weekend but I truly believe most if not all of those attending will shit themselves when they plug in. Thanks to my superior bladder/bowel control skills I did not, but it was close

I highly recommend everyone gather'round when Mike explains the operation of the amp. I believe there will be a quiz afterward. :D Highest score wins a, well certainly not a free amp, but maybe a hug or something

I wish all you guys a great time at next weeks amp fest

Will we be locking up Mr Fortin until all our amps have been modded? :gethim:

I have newer XTC and Bogner 4x12 with EVH Speakers if needed.

I am bringing fiddles, some boosts, a tuner, and one stupid looking grin when I get there :D

Here is a group shot of what I'm bringing down to NY

That's a slutty shot.

I heard some clips of an 800 you modded, it was killer, so tight and fat. I wish I could be there.

Thanks for the kind words James
I spent the better part of yesterday listening to all of your work with the shoot out. Awesome job with that
Hopefully we'll get some decent footage of the mini amp fest to share with out fellow Rig Talkers.
If you do another shoot out in the future, I'll have to make it a point to send something out for you guys to beat on ;)
Cheers,
Mike
