We actually used two cabs in order to handle Mike Volumes lol!! I believe one was a cab loaded with 65's and the other must have been the standard 75 watters. The great thing to take into consideration is that his amps killed even through beat up studio cabs
I got my face ripped off for sure :hys:

Mike's work is very very good  The Bones and Meathead have stupid quick tracking, no matter how fast you drill, plam mute, downstroke riffing..............the amps are as tight as a drum. Very articulate no matter what type of chords you throw at them. I wish I had brought my Schector down as I have that tuned to an open C and would have loved to rip Devy's Deadhead through either one. The amps just do not fall apart period.
The more I hear about these amps the more I'm interested. Damn, I was hoping everyone was going to say they blew.

What no clips, pics of vids?
We had planned on doing that but the person who had the camera couldn't make it. Carl Roa showed up and took some pics and video and there should be some video that he shot floating around. The sad thing is that in typical fashion, the best playing of dave and I wasn't captured. I should have learned by now to bring a freaking recorder

So if I'm not mistaken there were Fortins and Camerons there and so far everyone likes the Fortin batter?

Different amps and each have their own thing going. My Cameron's are not going any where "and" I would like to get something from Mike. I am considering a "Bones" since it has more of what I would actually use. I would love to have it with a 4 button footswitch… one switch for each gain setting (3 way switch) and one to turn on/off the loop. I think the bones will be the biggest seller….but of course that is my opinion. It does the clean well, but has the nuts to play any type of genre of music well. Being able to use any type of power tube is a big plus for me!!! 6550's one day, EL34's the next!!!

I really like the Meathead too. So many options… I would like to have played all of the amps at lower volumes to get a feel for how I would really be playing. We were playing at blistering volumes…and I have yet to be able to play at my house or a club at the volumes we were playing at.

Sup Brother!! Yeah, we had the volume up pretty high lol :D
Definitely louder then any of my gig volumes :hys:
With that said, Mike had them at Ralph Volume before you were there and they all sounded fantastic. All of Mikes amps have great master volumes and they can sound great at any volume. Both carl Roa and I aren't loud volume players, so I think its safe to say that Mikes amps sound great Low or high!!
It was great hanging with you! When I get my Modded amp back from Mike, we will have to have another get together in your neck of the woods. I know the trip out had to be brutal!!!
By the way, I was tryong to find a way to steal your cab :hys: Sounded freaking fantastic!!

I played a little bit at TV volumes, but I need more :D

The more I think about it, the more I like the bones. The Meathead is great for someone who needs more versatility, but for me, I only want the gain channels….and I know I mentioned it already, but I REALLY like being able to change to any type of tube…even mixing tube types like 6550's and EL34's etc.

I wonder if Mike could mod a Marshall into his "bones" amp. Like you said there, I have the Cali mod already covered. I like the Hulk too. Too many choices.

I love the bones as well and I can see why that amp is the most appealing to you! Mike could mod an amp for you but a lot of the Bones magic comes from the transformers. Its almost as if youd probably be better off just buying the bones because those transformers are KILLER !. I feel your pain because I have been toying with the idea of having some more mods done other then the ones that Mike will be working on for me (MIKE RULEs! )

With all that said... I had a blast!!

Sounds like a great time guys....wish I could have been there with my Recto and Avenger

So nobody did a runner with the Meathead when Mike wasn't looking?..... :D

Sounds like you guys had a great time!! I wish i could've been there to join in... Ohh the joy of living the other side of the pond

I wanna see clips too :D :gethim:

I'm kicking myself I had a Boss BR-900 in the car, I thought you guys were OK with the video.

How did the axefx stack up to the other amp in the room ? Sounds like a fun time

Hey Everyone,
I had a great time and was wonderful to meet everyone  Carl's drummer Dave took some video so that will show up on Carl's youtube page shortly. We just had so much fun plugging in and playing...loud   Got to hear Dave's Cams and they sounded great. Lots of great players. Too bad it was only 5 hours because it went by like a flash. Next time we'll have to one longer so everyone will get plenty of face time with all the amps. I didn't even get a chance to play anything   I'm getting back to Canada Thursday late and I don't have much of a chance to access the net, so I'll catch up with everyone when I get back. Thanks again to everyone for making the long trip
Cheers,
Mike

I'd love to come on up and see how my Randall MTS Mods stack up to the real deals. I know I like my Recto mod more than i did my Roadster, but it would be cool to hear side by side. Dave also did an SLO mod for me, so I'm curious since its been a while since I had my Avenger, and HR.

I dont know yet, it will be a cali mod 100 watt SLP or the Bones. I may have to unload something for the Bones though, not sure. I dont need a loop as I would just use the HP and run that shit into the rack of Vai  I spoke with MIke alot about loops and the theory about the lack of loop being present = better tone and his loop is very good after a/bing several times at good volumes.

I am just glad I was able to get my licks in whiole there were only a few there to save face
