Ola Demoing the Kemper...

More people cancel their preorders with Sweetwater, quicker I'll get my Kemper. As it stands, my salesdude says I should be getting one from the second shipment that is due to arrive early next week. :D

When that happens, it's going to be a Marshallriffic day here because first thing I think I'll be profiling are my super leads.

Now THAT'S the proper use of it IMO. :) Getting the awesome sound, profile it and be done.

No, I don't own a Kemper. Yes I own an AxeFX (since 2007) and I'm sick'n tired of tweaking. ;)

Looks like Meshuggah is ditching their Snaxes

So apparently Meshuggah are looking to switch their Axes to Kemper's

Ola Englund's post on Morten Hågström's FB wall just 45 mins ago:

OA: Is it going to be Kemper now?
MH: We hope so. Fredrik is mailing with them non stop.
OA: Pretty close to touring to switch gear
Jocke Skog: Kemper rack would be killer gear. Just need to profile my favorite Axe sounds, then I can sell the rubbish.
[Other irrelevant stuff]

i like the concept-kinda like itunes-copy your cd collection on your iphone-keep your original cd safe at home
cosmetics-i'd rather not carry r2d2 around to gigs

Same here ;)
I used to love the Axe-fx... still do but Im done with tweaking ;)

The design at first made me think it was kinda dumb Lookin. But knowing that a synth designer is behind it, def looks more like my access virus synth then a guita device. But it's kinda growing on me.

Also tired of tweaking snax to get it as real as possible.

I played a gig weekend before last with my axe fx standard (and a VHT 2/90/2, into a marshall cab) and it killed. But I have some amps that I never could tweak copies of with the axe fx.

I played a gig once with my '72 superlead and matching cab (with a hot plate so I didn't decapitate anyone) and it was awesome. If I can get 90% of that *and* the sound of my XTC and recto rackmount and Mark III coli, then I'm sold. Especially since a Rig-Talker lives nearby with some Cameron and Friedman modded Marshalls for me to profile...

My only gripe is the lunchbox form factor, but if it does what it's supposed to do, I don't care if it looks like a giant dick.

Pete!

I used the axe live for 2 years and really dug it but there where many things that I noticed. One thing that I noticed is that I never had the same sound twice. i know that sounds odd given that I was using a modelor but given that there were so many updates comming out for the axe that everytime I touch the freaking thing and updated it my sounds would change. I loved the updates but they actually became a PITA after a while because you always want the latests and greatest but there was a cost...at least there was for me.
Second thing I noticed is that All my patches started to sound the freaking same. What I mean is that Id start out with one amp model and always program it to sound the same hahahha! I know it was my fault but at the end of the day having all the flexability just to program the same sound got crazy after a while.
I think it's an amazing piece of gear but after spending many years tweking shit there comes a time in your life where enough is enough.
My rig these day could not be simpler. On tube amp, one 2x12, one effects unit and a pedal switcher and the sound is KILLER.

I think where the Kemper shines is that if you dig a specific rig or rigs , you can profile it in all it's glory and be done with it.
A very unique part of my sound comes from a specific cabinet and being able to capture that in a profile would be key.
Id even ditch a cab and go straight to the board.
I'm not going the Kempler route but if I was I could care less what it looks like to because we have baffles covering the amps!!

Your giant dick referance = :hys:

Fractal's gonna have profiling on the Axe II in the future. http://forum.fractalaudio.com/lounge/46 ... post618385 and for DADA: You know, Cliff's profiling will be way better, made in America and already in a 2 space unit. It's not too late for you to apologize.

.

No one knows if Cliff's profiling will be way better; it's all speculation, and anything otherwise is pure FAS nut-hugging. I don't hate FAS or the Axe, but what I can't stand are the wild-eyed zealots that use the damn thing. Obviously not all FAS Axe users are like that, but damn there are a lot of them out there.

Let's hope the Kemper doesn't draw the same deer-in-headlights religious aspect.

I agree, and I even have an Axe. I can't stand some of the people who are so nut hugging, like they are being paid an endorsement. I am going kemper this time around.

Guy, I was just busting Dada's balls. His anti-Fractal zealotry(to use your term)has been, and is, over the top. As far as I'm concerned, all I want to see is something that kicks ass and is affordable as well.

lots of clips showing up on TGP, I must say I am pretty impressed. . Some of the clips sound VERY amp like, authentic, like you would expect a micd' amp. Of course the profile all depends on how well it was micd. but still

Sorry, I'm not hip to the FAS soap opera here, so I was just going on what you wrote.

And what if Cliff makes an Awesome profiling feature in the AFX2 (he probably can do that)? Menus upon menus, pages upon pages to get the job done. Happy tweaking in that lovely early 90's style! :) :D

Oh yeah, I agree to the other comment too. Tragic.

Ola's Triple Recto Kemper Profile sounds incredible.

Look forward to more great patches from him...thanks for sharing.

Can't forget needing to add a multiband compression, sidechained to 2 different reverbs, different settings, then connect your little modules in the layout by arrows that sometimes don't always connect. haha. all you need to know is how to tweak it, and you will sound amazing..
