Ola tests the new Kemper profiler...

I plugged the guitar into my kid's lunchbox, and I am a little underwhelmed
I would've assumed a soft lunch bag would probably net some pretty mushy tone so this comes as no surprise.

Sounds like you speak from experience brudda.
I do. I've smeared feces into modeling gear at a few different events where stage security was light or non-existent but I don't really wanna go into details.

I watched Olas video today. The profile sounded dark vs the amp.
I wouldn't put too much stock in that. He tests gear or makes it chugg and I think he approaches it in a more cavalier way. Most of the gear he doesn't seem to be too inspired by. I still remember -back when I watched him- his review of the zuul

They didn’t sound the same (differences in the top end) but I actually liked the tone of the profile more.

I think it's not relevant when he ran the Kemper's Class D power section into the cab.

Tha apples-to-apples comparisson is the first A/B section when he was comparing them in his DAW and, to my ears, they sounded pretty close; Kemper did good on V2 as far as I can tell from that vid (their attitude is still a$$ though).

I'd be curious how it fares profiling a gained-up Recto in Modern mode...

I also thought Ola's rig profile vs the miked amp sounded different. The Kemper seems darker/thicker. Both were fine and nothing really to complain about.

I'm glad the profiling no longer requires user "refining" since that was way too difficult to get right. Should have been automated, which I assume it now is.

Same. My experience with Kemper profiling was that the profiles generally had more gain and more bass than the actual amp. This video just verifies that for the Mk II. Kemper is cool but the tech is just too old at this point compared to others in the market.

The Kemper and the real amp sounded identical to me. I'm sure if I analyzed them with the Large Hadron Collider, I'd find a very subtle difference. But honestly who cares. If you listened to a random song and didn't know what gear was used, you wouldn't notice.

I don't really follow this stuff. But it is interesting. How long ago did the mkII come out? It seems like a long time ago.

Probably longer than you think...

Watch Ola chug videos all the time but this one sounds worst the Dime tone.

I'd cover the entire face of that like a grandma covers a couch

So you are saying all that’s stopping me, is me? Not the gear. No thanks, I like to blame equipment.
